I have a Weldall 200pi that I purchased on Feb 19, 2014. I have had nothing but problems ever since my purchase. Be it parts broken in shipping, torches plumbed backwards, plasma cutter continually not working, unit popping solenoids, having to ship the unit back, you name I have had to do it. Then I get the run around on what is covered, what is not covered, then the latest gem of an attempt to claim "something fell on my torch" so we can't warranty it. That is an absolute lie. My torch has been replaced and the problem is still the same. For some reason, every time I use the torch, within 4-5 uses, it stops allowing air through the machine. Each time I was told it was a solenoid. Well, here we are again, the torch did the same exact thing, for the THIRD TIME. My welder has been out of service longer than it has been in service. I have tried to be patient, but my patience is wearing thin.
The unit is covered by a 1 year warranty. The plasma cutter is normaly covered by a 6 month warranty, but since it is a Weldall 200pi, it is covered under the 1 year plan. I brought this to their attention from the very begining. I even purchased an additional 1 year warranty. This issue, now 16 months into it, still has not been corrected.
I have offered to down size to just a cutter and a tig welder, 2 separate units. They wanted to charge me more money..... Really? How about a unit that works? At this point it would seem reasonable that either A) I receive a new 200pi since clearly mine is a lemon, B) take me up on my offer of simply giving me an independent plasma cutter and tig welder
I am not the guy to go bad mouthing and reporting without allowing a chance at resolution. I think I have done more than my part.
I contacted them several times, I even contacted the owner, Simon. The owner referred me back to Daniel, who I have dealt with since the begining.
The Owner responded to my email:
You are correct that the Weldall does have a 1 year warranty, but torches are purchased separately and are covered for 6 months like all welding manufacturers that I can think of. Also, additional warranty is not added to torched, pedals, accessories, etc. That is stated on our website. I asked Daniel to prepare a response for you and requested he offer you 10% off on a new torch if you wish to move forward.
He mentioned to me that the warehouse took photos of your returned torch, which has rips in the cable which possibly causes the trigger to also not activate if you burnt a wire with slag, etc. Any damage to torches also is not covered by Longevity or factories.
Please contact Daniel direct for further clarity. If you wish to work with someone else, Melanie handles these matters as well for us, but will not tell you anything different.
