I recieved a call from my daughter that my diabled husband was panicking over a telephone call he recieved from Loan Depot telling him that he had applied for a loan "online". He doesn't even use the internet. He thought someone had stolen his identity. They were asking him personal information. Luckily--this time--he didn't give out any personal information. We don't need a loan, never applied for a loan. This is predatory and should be against the law. He is cognitively disabled! I left work and drove home and called back the number. It was definetly Loan Depot! How dare you. Shame on you!
Feb.12 2015 I applied for a mortgage loan with LoanDepot when I talked to M Fombrun he told me there would be no appraisal fee. Then i received my loan packet and the apprasal fee agremeet paper said appriasal fee is $0.00 then they charged me $400.00 to my credit card . I think they are deciving peopie and outright lieing to them. Can you help
First, Loan Depot offered me the best rates after checking many others, plus they promised after 6 months if the interest rates dropped, they would follow suit for no extra costs.
They promised to refinance my house, and give a cash out of the equity. The took a $500.00 non-refundable fee if I did not qualify for the loan, but said it would be refunded only if they were the problem.
Well 3 going on 4 closing dates have gone by, the house assessed higher than expected, and 3 agent later, going on 4 months, and empty promises, all paperwork sent in, I have heard from them. I have to keep calling them, but still no refinance.
I think they do this to keep the $500.00 appraisal fees for 90 days so you cannot do a charge back.
Don't ,waste your time listening to their lies! Run, far, far away! Avoid like the pleague!
Like the old saying goes, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!
Do not use Loan Depot. I did not heed the bad reviews. They will quote you a 495.00 appraisal fee. Then they knocked it down to 100.00 when I called them on this amount being used in all bad reviews. Banker got it approved by manager to knock it down. Appraisal came in low. Then after all documentation was sent in and it got to be the day before closing, they said I was not approved because I was two payments late on my mortgage. I was one payment late in two years. Every review I read said they would disqualify you right before closing. But still I did not heed the advise.
For all the people out there with bad or fair credit. Go somewhere else. Do not waste time with them. They seem very nice and I was very polite back, but they will scam you. PLEASE DO NOT USE!!!!!!
On 01/23/2013, I settled on a HARP2 loan with Loandepot being the mortgage company. All went well, except the original percentage was off from the original quote. Still, my payments went down quite a bit. There is also a PMI. They used the old appraisal of $172,000, which was given on a previous refi, due to my wife being seriously injured in a car accident.
Fast forward to 08/27/2014. A Jennifer Buxton, Sr. Mortgage Banker ([email protected]) emailed me that she could at this point waive the PMI. I thought I had reached that magic number. She took $495.00 from a credit card for the Lock-inagreement and Advanced Fee. I sent everything on the checklist, not being fully aware it was a total refi. (Probably my stupidity). Loandepot sent an appraisor, of course from miles away. He came back with an outrageous number, $150,000.
With this appraisal, I have not even come close to the "magic number". I dispute this guy's number, he does not come from this pretty rural area. "Could not find any "like" homes nearby" was in the report. Of course not, there are no cookie cutter homes for miles.
The next person from Loandepot, a Ms. Stella Pak, Senior Account Manager/senior processor ([email protected]), when I talked to her(she was "out sick for a while") didn't know about the bad appraisal, and turned the process back over to Ms. Buxton.
Loandepot owes me a refund of $495.00 because Ms. Buxton knew, or should have known, being a "Senior Mortgage Banker" that I had not reached the right percentage for removal of the PMI in the first place. I believe the whole thing was a SPAM email from the start and that I was played. Diffrent review sites, such as Ripoff Report< have some very very similar stories, with even the same exact numbers. Coincedence, NOT.
Businees with this company was a disaster. They sent papers for me to sign to the wrong adddress and I had to go to 2 different homes to find them. They mispelled our names on the papers. Had to fax the papers and pay for the fax, had to put up a $495 deposit on my credit card to talk to them that was supposed to be returned at settlement. Although I had a verification that the 15 sheets were faxed to them, they said they did not get them all. Went to my bank to refax and found out from my banker that he would do the loan for $2000.00 less closing costs and .25% lower interest. I went with my banker's mortgage.
Loan Depot siezed the $495. from my credit card. They did nothing except rip me off.
I Contacted loandepot To See About Refinceing My Home, Spoke To Kevin Ross , Everything Was Going Good Put Down The Down Payment For Their Services. They Set Up An Home Appaisel , Come Out And Did It. Later We Disn't Hear Anything For A While, Later We Called Kevin Ross Again To See What Was Happening And He Told Us That The Apraisel Had Been Canceled By Them Because The Home Was Not On Our Land, Something We Had All Ready Told Them From The Start.
Today 8/3/2014 We Recived A Letter From Them With The Reason Marked ( income insufficient for the amount of credit Requested ) Kevin Ross Had Already Told Us The Problem About It Not Being On Our Land. And That We Probley Wouldn't Be Charged But They Did Anyway. Now We Can't Even Get In Touch With Kevin Ross, He's Never There And Will Not Return Your Calls. Charles Winnsboro Louisiana

Don't anyone ever deal with Loandepot.
