LoanDepot.com LLC Reviews

On 11/20/2014 I took a call from Loan Dept - they had been calling me for weeks. I had been interested in refinancing but was only researching and was not ready to make any definiate decisions. I explained this to the salesman - he asked some questions and then asked for my ss# I asked him why he said he wanted to pull a credit report I told him I didn't not want him to pull my credit as I didn't want any inquires at this time. He assured me it would not be on my report as it would only be a soft pull. I asked him twice - he also mention the call was recorded.

To make a long story short after the conversation I told him I was not ready at this time and as I had mention was only researching. Call was disconnected - of course they called me almost 2-3 x a week all day long.

I finally made a decision to refinance early this month and is going thru my current mortgage. This is when I found out about the Loan Depot inquiry did indeed show up. I contacted Credco who said I had to contact Loan Depot who I talked to a representative and a supervisor. Who both stated they have never heard of Loan Depot doing soft inquiry. I asked them both to pull the call but to no avail. I know this is a small thing - its just the principal. I have written to the BBB and currently looking for some corporate emails to contact them. Thank you for allowing me to vent.

I was misled by Loan depot representatives i21DEC14. I was working with Daniel Patterson on a home loan and he advised me it would cost $325 to have the home appraised. In the meantime, he advised me to send all the required paperwork, last two W2's, paystubs, tax records, mortgage statements.

He reviewed my credit score and advised thst my loan was initially approved and there would be a $325 charge to my credit card. If the loan was not finalized, then we would get our $325 refunded. Our mortgage refinance was disapproved and the loan appraisal fee has also been disapproved.

Just like many other reports for LoanDepot, I too was scammed by this company. In July 2014, I decided to refinance my home and went online looking for rates. LoanDepot seemed to have a good rate and also talked a good story. The individual I dealt with was actually from my home state, so it seemed a bit more personable. I paid my $495 for an appraisal and it was actually done rather quickly. All my personal financial dealings were also good and passed their requirements. The appraisal came back right around where I said it would, so that was also good news. And then the games began. The underwriter noticed something in my tax return that did not fit with the appraisal. It had to do with the value of the land. I own a small ranch, and yes....the land value does count. However, LoanDepot started to backslide and tried to tell me that the land could not have that kind of value and stated they were going back out to the appraiser for clarification (read here....make him change his opinion of value). I was continually told that I would be contacted by end of business day--those phone calls never came. I would email and my emails would also go unanswered.

I am now over 5 weeks into the process and still getting the run around. I finally told them I was through playing their games and would take my business elsewhere. I went with a local bank that was able to give me the same low rate and in a matter of days, was already through the process LoanDepot is still dragging their feet on. I'm out the $495 appraisal fee, but a lesson learned and I'm done with their games. I would highly recommend that you consider your local banks BEFORE going to this very unprofessional company. One final note, the only time I got an immediate call back was when I tried to report them to the BBB. Within minutes of posting my complaint, someone from LoanDepot called to inquire as to why I was unhappy. At the end of the day, they called to give me the same song and dance about my land value. Just remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. You are much better off dealing with someone local....at least then you can get face to face with them, if needed, rather than hope you get phone calls or emails from unknowns that could be located who knows where. Good luck!

I spoke with Patrick Simon at LoanDepot about a refinance loan and said I would consider his proposal. The next day there was a FedEx packet at my door with the entire financial records of a couple in North Carolina! I live in north Texas. Now I am living an "identity theft" nightmare, wondering where all MY financail information was mailed!

We began our saga with Loandepot.com in late March with a Mr. Mark Perez who was very optimistic about our refinancing prospects. He first suggested that we go FHA and my husband agreed. All paperwork was done fees paid for the house to be appraised and we were set to go. FIRST ROAD BLOCK--our house was appraised lower than expected (that's okay we can still work with you)---All paperwork was signed sent off to the underwriter and unbeknownst to us the fun was just beginning. Mark Perez gave our file to a one Stephanie Fox who in my opinion could not find her way out of a paper bag. I state this because she forwarded me one of her inter-office communications and next she sent my husband a FedEx label to be used to send her documents--instead, she sent him labels that were in the reverse. Anyways, we have signed documents after documents, sent bank statements, water testing results, termites inspections--re-sent duplicate documents of the same information. And last month, Mark Perez contacted my husband and decided that we should refinance our home through the VA--OKAY!!! the process began all over again; resubmitting documents, new appraisal's were done, new good faith paperwork etc., seems as though it would never end. I decided to check these guys out and found so much negative information on them. As I began to read all the reports, I began to see a pattern since the things I was reading, was what I was actually living. It was very surreal and sobering. Fast forward-- four months later, MS. FOX contacted my husband at the beginning of this week and told him that we would be closing by the end of the week or early next week. Great! I remainded skeptical. The next day she once again began with the litany of new items we would need for the underwriter before we closed and among them were: how many people lived in our home and a list of them (strange, why?)! Another explanation of previous addresses (my husband was in the Military and they do move frequently) and AGAIN, with the re-submitting of documentation that we gave them months ago... After waiting again for her to send us the required documents to sign--we got a call today from someone we had never talked to before telling my husband that our loan would not be approved. Stephanie Fox is a coward and Mark Perez is a lousy actor who has no compassion for the stress that he has put my husband through over the last four months. After finally getting him (Mark Perez) to contact us, he was so SORRY and if it was his money he would approve us in an instance--ACCORDING TO HIM 'he worked and re-worked everything,' and for some reason (my husband and I still don't understand what he was saying-blah,blah, blah, something) the VA denied us. My husband is a veteran and has never used his VA certificate but, for some unknown reason only known to Mark Perez we were denied. I would never ever send my worst enemy (if I had one) to loandepot.com (not to be confused with loandepot folks, as they continue to state that this is the actual company in which people confuse them with)... I am not confused, IT IS LOANDEPOT.COM. they are scam artist, unprofessional and I have as of yet to figure out exactly what the depth of their scam is but; I am glad to be done with them (can't get back the four months dealing with these sub-humans), we can only move on to a reputable company that will not waste our time.
