Live Goods AKA Modern Warehouse (and prob more names) is a group of LLC's based in CA that operate perhaps the most blatant scam: they take your money, dont call you back, and you never receive anything.
How this company still operates is a complete mystery.
My story goes as follows:
My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice couch to compliment our otherwise empty floor-to-ceiling glass living room. We came across a nice couch from Tosh and found it on several websites (most of which, I now realize, are probably scams).
We found it on Modern Warehouse (website no longer available) for $200 cheaper with the caviat that it would take 8-12 weeks. We bought it at the end of Sept. and waited and waited and waited. Finally, at around New Years (13 weeks) we called. I couldnt believe a company from which I had purchased a $2300 item would not call to at least verify the order and delivery date. This was the 1st of 2 calls we ever made. Basically, they told us that due to bad weather the couch would be delivered mid january (16 weeks from date of purchase).
Now is where everything went weird. We asked for some money back in a 2nd call since the delivery would have been almost twice the listed time. They refunded $75...for 2 weeks before recharging the money back. Now its the beginning of February and ever number listed on their site is no longer available. We left a few voicemails asking for a full refund.
Ha, like that will ever happen.
Never, ever, buy anything from any of their listed sites. They are a FULL scam. Some people have claimed to get the furniture but that it is the wrong item, warranty is void, etc. Whether or not they got their furniture, I wouldnt know. However, as it stands, NONE of their phone numbers work, their site changes once a month, and they will NEVER call you back, even if you do manage to get a hold of them.
