Lindsey's Attic is a consignment shop that is set up to RIP OFF customers -- this
business should be stopped!!! See reviews via google "Lindsey's Attic Cape
Coral". Many seniors are getting ripped off. Please help fix this business.
On June 30th 2014, I placed my dinning set and soft set for them to sell, signed a
"contract" that designed to rip off customers. The contract says that the check expires in
30 days after the issue date, but they won't let you pick up the check until after the 20th of every month.
So, in reality you only have less than 5 days to cash the check or they stop payment
and keep your money (all nice and legal) !!!
My dinning set was sold, but my sofa set was gone (both sets were not in the store in July
2014). I called on July 20th, 21st, and 22nd, no check for me.
I stopped by the store on Aug 20th, agin no check, and Aug 24th again no check
Then I stopped by Sept 20th, and 22nd and finally got one check for $322.14 (Note that the
check expired on Sept 25th, but NO expiration date is printed on the check), Also, the
check amount was not 50/50 per contract, so I called and stopped by the store to talk to
them, but only the owner knows the status of consignment payments and he could not be contacted and he does not call back or take appointments. By the time I found out from the staff that they were charging
me for the credit card fee when the furniture was sold, I had then deposited the check
on Sept 30th, but the owner had put a "stop payment" order to the bank.
The sofa set simply disappeared: NO check and NO status after 4 plus months.
Per the "contract" 3 days after the contract expires they own the unsold furniture too.
Do NOT bring anything to Lindsey's Attic. I made this mistake by not taking the advise of the online reviews. They are close to my home and I want to support the local businesses. I tried to renew my contract BEFORE the contract expiration since I was going to be out of town on the expiration date. The owner would not do it early and told me to email them on the expiration date. She wrote the date to email on my contract. I did that only to find out she calculated the wrong date and then would not reconsider. All of my furniture became theirs due to their error. Or after reading all of the reviews I now believe this was intentional! This store needs to be out of business. PLEASE DO NOT USE LINDSEYS ATTIC! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!
