My wife and I rented a house from Lillian S. Jacobs, dba Blue Skies Management of Carlsbad, CA, located at 1850 Lyndy
Lane, Fallbrook, CA 92008. We were there from June 20, 2014 to November 30, 2014, and paid $3,400.00 per month on
a month-to-month tenancy. The deposit was $3,400.00 (one month's rent), so the first check was for $6,800.00. We
gave 30 days notice and moved out on November 30, 2014. We have made multiple attempts to get our deposit returned,
including telephone calls and emails, but there has been absolutely no response from Lillian Jacobs.
It should be noted that the house was very dirty when we moved in and we paid for a complete cleaning at the beginning
of our stay, with professional cleaning every two weeks, even though it was just the two of us. Many things were wrong
with the house and the stench from the animals (horses, goats, donkeys and mules) was overwhelming. The animal corrals
were never cleaned during the entire time we were there. When we saw that the animals did not have enough food, we
bought them food at the feed store and never asked to be reimbursed by Ms. Jacobs.
Many of the workmen who came to the house complained that they were not being paid by Ms. Jacobs, including the
caretaker (Carlos) for the animals. One day a process server came to our door looking for Ms. Jacobs. Before we moved
out I asked Lillian if she was going to renege on our deposit and she replied "Don't worry, you'll get your deposit back".
We will take her to court for our deposit, even though we do not live in the area. She must not be allowed to take
advantage of people like this, and I see we are not the only ones she has cheated.
