I ordered three dresses for my mother off of the website www.lightinthebox.com, for her 40th Wedding Anniversary, on March 24th/2014. I recieved two emails on the 24th. The first was a conformation email, the second was a conformation of payment received. I thought all was good, and the dresses would arrive within 3-5 business days, as per their expedited shipping, which I chose, stated.
Time passed and I never thought of it, as I was sure my mother would let me know when they arrived. She asked me yesterday about the items, saying they hadn't arrived. It has been nearly 2 weeks since the order was placed. So, I went and checked my email inbox and found one from them dated the 27th of March. It stated that my order could not be completed, as payment was not recieved. I then signed on to PayPal, and payment was indeed issued on the 24th, so I opened a dispute on PayPal to halt the funds, since I did not get the dresses and the money was taken.
After chatting with two seperate representatives from lightinthebox.com on their chat (they have no telephone number or email) I noticed the status of my order mysteriously changed from 'pending' to 'processing', with an estimated delivery date of April 19th! I was supposed to get the dresses between March 27th-30th! During all this, I was advised by their company to open a 'ticket' with customer service, which I did. I explained the situation, how money had been taken from my PayPal, but with no sign of anything being shipped to me. I received a threatening response, stating that if I did not immediately close my PayPal dispute, they would not send the dresses, to which I responded that is what PayPal is for; It is to protect buyers and sellers!I also stated I would resolve the dispute as soon as I recieved the products, and only then the money would be transfered to them. I have yet to recieve a response.
Also, they have these 'tickets' you can file, but there is no history of them. They DELETE all conversations, so if you have any correspondence with this company, SAVE IT, as they will delete it all. I also saved the response from the ticket and put it right on the PayPal dispute page, where there will be a record of it.
Do NOT order from this company. I have a very, very disapointed elderly Mother because of them.
