A sales rep for the company came to my apartment community (which i later found out does not allow soliciting) and explained that he works for Lifestyle Success, a company working to help him get through school and help him travel to Rome. Being a student myself, I thought I saw an opportunity to help someone like me. I randomly chose to subscribe to a magazine on his tattered laminated brochure. I asked him about the cancellation policy, which he said is allowed whenever I need to. When it came time to pay he pressed for cash payment but I refused and offered a check. His mood completely changed but he accepted it anyway. I took note of the check number and said goodbye. Well I attempted to cancel the payment and order but when I called the next day they put me on hold for about an hour. I gave up and attempted again today when I saw the funds were just pulled from my account. I called and explained what happened last time I attempted to cancel and they refused to refund me the money, stating they only do refunds up to 3 days after the date of sale, completely disregarding that I attempted to cancel ONE day after sale but was put on a "hold". Thanks to this website, I found I am not the only one ripped off although I am pretty angry I am now short almost $100. All in all, lesson learned.
A guy came to my door saying his name was 'Jason' and he is trying to raise money selling magazines or donations to build books for children. I wasn't sure it was fake so i asked a few questions about it. The guy was super nice about everything and he seemed really genuine. I am a sucker for donations for children and donated money. Thankfully he doesn't have my card information, but he does know where i live! which is scary to think about! when he left i searched the company up online and sure enough after looking at reviews it was a scam!
Young woman going door to door selling magazine subscriptions who is a fast talker and a smooth talker. I never allow door to door people to sell me anything but this one got me. Said she only needed 3 more sales to win and go to Rome.
After she left I had a gut feel to check into the company after several things she said didn't sit right with me - I won't list those things because I believe she is also smart enough to read these kinds of reviews and learn from her mistakes for her next con job.
Unfortunately, this young woman who desperately wants to be a business owner will never become one... This will catch up to her and she will be locked up, and the one who is owned.
Charlotte is a 23 year old female, 5-9 about 120 pounds with reddish- blonde hair. Today she called herself Charlotte. Tomorrow maybe not. She is tall, skinny, friendly and a somewhat Kesha appearance but Charlotte has an uneven harsh pitted complexion. She has tattoos on the inside of her wrist and forearm area. She said people don't normally guess her age, they usually guess her much older.
I was able to cancel my check, however my neighbor not so lucky as she provided this woman with $300+ in cash.
