I joined in Novemeber. They sort of pressured me to sign when i went to the interview. I thought it was for more info. I agreed though because I was convininced it was a good choice.
The matches were by far the worst kind of people to match me with. There was no, absolutely no, connection or anything that would indicate we would be a match. Some did not even meet with me.
I asked to cancel my account through email, and they ignored it. I emailed a month and a half later (i had forgotten about it) because i saw them still taking money out of my account.
They finally acknowledged me, I called and explained I wanted to end services and stop payments.
I knew it would be a cold day in h*** before they gave me a partial refund back. I also wanted to stop any future payments from this point on.
They refused. and Hung up on me.
Poor customer service. I had to close my bank account, as it was the only way to stop them from taking more money out. They had zero of my interests to heart. And rather just take what they could to continue.
I paid for a photo service as well, I never got that. I was given matches:
I am a health eater, and they set me up with someone who loves candy, baking sugar. We knew we were not a match.
Set me up with 2 people who flaked out on me, one had said she was canceling her account as a reason why not wanting to meet after all.
One had zero social skills. Could not answer any questions about anything and I had to make an excuse to leave.
I could go on about horrible matchmaking. It is like they didn't even try.
I would love a partial refund, but it won't happen. at least they won't get any other money from me.
It is frustrating that this is just how they treat people. For a company who are suppose to connect people, they really suck at keeping them.
If I knew i would be paying 4000 dollars to be treated like crap I think I should have at least got something out of it. Nothing, Nada.
I'm just shocked to still see TV advertisements of this rather criminal organization that claims garanteed success but in reality is the very opposite.
Here is my story dealing with this,
Back in 2004 I made the mistake of signing up for this service, only after I was approved and contract was signed for, that they stated the the service would be paid in full if ever I cancelled it.
2 years went by and not once was I ever contacted back by them, much of my calls to them went unanswered or just re-routed to an already full voice mail system.
Someone in their office must have heard my voice mail of disatisfaction as not long afterwards I received a letter from their collections dept. demanding that I pay them $1200.00 for the so called cancellation fee.
After several calls back and forth with their collections and a cease and desist letter sent to them from a lawyer that I hired, then there was a period of silence, no more harrassment from them.
In 2008 I received a letter of assessment by the Canada revenue agency stating that I owed $1200 to them on behalf of Allied international which was the main finance company for Lifemates.
Of course at this point I caved in and handed over the money to the CRA just to resolve the matter and tp get them off my back.
So there you go, No services provided, "EVER", and forced to pay in full, thanks to the CRA.
