I ordered a birth certificate online from vitalcheck.com in August 2013 so I can apply for passport renewal for my son. even after 30 days I did not receive any response from them. First I contacted via email and got canned response to wait for 8 business days. although it has been 30 days. I contacted them via phone and they told me that they forgot to mention the apartment number in the order to San Antonio county office and told me that they would correct that and let me know status in 8 days. No response again for another 30 days.contacted many times after that just to get same response every time. We will call San Antonio office and call you back on Monday. That Monday never came but my son's passport almost expired. So, I went directly to San Antonio county office and talk to a nice lady. she helped me finding the status of the order and notified me that they have sent the birth certificate via USPS and never got any return from them. She even talked to her manager to get another birth certificate without any extra charge.
after getting ripped off by vitalcheck I learned my lesson. Sometimes govt. agencies are better than these rip offs. I should have directly gone to county office and got the birth certificate. That would have saved me $9 and also painful customer support from vitalcheck.
Don't get ripped off, avoid vitalcheck as much as possible.
