In June of this year I was to take a flight to my son's wedding in California to be there with him as he entered into an important journey in his life. Sadly two weeks before I suffered from a subdural hematoma, and I was admitted to Hurstwood Park Neurological Hospital in Sussex for emergency surgery to remove bleeding from my brain. If this surgery had not been carried out I could have suffered severe brain damage, or worse. I am still not 100% percent, I am not able to drive, nor work and as yet its still unknown if I will ever be back to normal.

This has been a trauma for my wife and children, as you can imagine, I was heartbroken that we weren't able to attend my sons wedding, but unfortunately there has been another stressful ordeal that hasn't helped my health or the wellbeing of my wife and family. Since June we have been persevering with Lastminute.

com to receive a refund for flights we never took.

Along with all of the uncertainty of dealing with my health when I went into hospital on May 22 my wife called Lastminute the next day. They originally offered a refund. After my brain operation my wife called Lastminute back to find out what was going on to learn that they had refunded 189 pounds. Our tickets were about 1400 pounds in total. Representatives of Last Minute then told us that they weren't able to give any money back because they had already given us the 189. Ever since both my wife and son have been trying to get either a full refund or credit towards a future flight.

Virgin said that under these unfortunate circumstances we were eligible for a full refund and that they had to ask the travel agent last minute.com to reimburse me on their behalf. Sadly the process to get this refund with Lastminute has been a tragedy of errors and extremely frustrating. LastMinute represenative Dinesh told us he would call Virgin but for a number of weeks wasn't able to get through. Vaibhab Bhilerao, Dinesh's supervisor has also said that he has been in touch with Virgin. My wife has 12 emails sent over a period of 12 weeks with the same message: "I will contact you back in the next 3-5 working days as soon as I get a response from the airline." As far as I can tell Virgin have not received any communication from Lastminute.com

Now it appears that because of the lapse in time when we call Virgin our record locator has been lost and we are at a total loss as to how we resolve this situation.

As a result of this ordeal we've lost all faith in Lastminute ability to resolve this issue. At the moment I've not permitted to fly but I hope that went I am I can use this money towards a flight to visit my son and his wife. I am posting in an attempt to elevate this issue in the hope that it finally be resolved and to raise awareness so that others can see the lack of care that Lastminute have for the wellbeing of your customers.

Please repost and share with your friends so that Lastminute.com can be held accountable for not resolving what should be a simple and reasonable request.

I booked a hotel using the top secret hotel feature on lastminute.com. When the hotel was issued much to my suprise all of their competitors and booking with the hotel directly were cheaper than the top secret hotel deal I was issued. Top secret hotel is advertised as - "Stay in one of our many Top Secret Hotels at up to an astounding 35% off. Because Top Secret Hotels are exclusive to lastminute.com, you won’t find these same deals anywhere else.". Part of this is true you wont find these deals anywhere else, as elsewhere they are cheaper. So after I found out that all the competitors were cheaper I sent a screen shot from 2 other agents to the price match guarantee. The response was as follows: Thank you for your email at 09:28 AM regarding the Price Match Guarantee claim. I apologise for the delayed response. We’ve compared the booking you made at lastminute.com with the one you captured in the screenshot. One of the Terms and Conditions of our Price Match Guarantee is that the products must be absolutely identical. In this particular case there is a difference in the room type’s classes. You have booked Standard Room with us and as per the screen shot the room type is Superior Studio, 1 King bed, so I’m afraid the Price Match Guarantee doesn’t apply here. I’m sorry to disappoint you. I contacted Admiral suites as I could not see a standard room on their website. As I thought they do not have a standard room, the booking I have was infact the superior studio ..

So I replied back to lastminute telling them they are ripping me off and I would like a full refund now as the whole experience has left a bad taste. Renaming a hotel room so you cannot meet there ideal match is a total disgrace. If I had not contacted Admiral suites nothing would of come of this. Fobbing me off with blatent lies, top secret hotels is a total scam I have now been offered the difference from the screen shot and 10% of the screen shot price as a good will gesture. How can this be a good will gesture as they are advertising a Top Secret Hotels at up to an astounding 35% off, where clearly they are more expensive than everywhere else and you dont know the name of the hotel.you are booking. I have replied this is now unacceptable and I want a full refund to which they have gone totally silent leaving me very frustrated. Give me my money back lastminute,com.
