I have known Lacie Yeager for about nine years and over this time, she has given lessons to me and my daughter as well as provided training for two different horses that we have owned. My daughter and I have the utmost respect for the horse knowledge Lacie has and the very gentle and effective methods she uses when training horses of all skill levels. My personal observations have been that horses in Lacie's care are well-treated and their well-being is of the utmost importance to her. I admire the patience that Lacie possesses when working with horses of many different backgrounds.
I have visited the barn that Lacie is now managing, Clearview Lane Boarding Stables, and have seen how many improvements she has made to these facilities since she has been in control. All the horses in her care appear healthy and she is always addressing the needs of her own horses as well as the horses she is boarding. Plus when she has an equine chiropractor visit her barn, she invites me to bring my horse to her barn as well to take advantage of this opportunity. She has even provided transportation for my horse when I was out of town and handled the appointment for me!

I feel the need to counter with a very positive review of a person who I hold as an utmost authority on everything horse! I have recommended Lacie to many of my friends and work acquaintances for lessons and training for their horses and they have all had wonderful experiences. I have no doubt that if you choose to board your horse with Lacie, bring in your horse for training or take lessons with her, you will see for yourself what an honest, caring and responsible horse woman Lacie is and you will be happy and grateful that you have Lacie as a part of your horse's life!
Lacie Yeager (LJ Training and Showing) claims to be a full care boarding and training facility, but that is far from the truth. Being an avid horse person, I was excited to find a barn that seemed incredibly well kept and that the horses also appeared to be well kept. During my time with LJ Training and Showing, I witnessed horses going without proper bedding for days, being kept outside in ALL weather conditions (rain, sleet, snow, freezing cold, even though her website states that horses only go out weather permitting), horses eating the bark off of the trees outside of their pasture, horses being fed well below their minimum daily requirements, and much more.
Having been around horses for a long time, horses do not just eat bark off of trees for fun, they do it because they are desperately hungry. I have seen horses in her care lose an excess amount of weight to where you can count their ribs. Often times, horses are turned out in extreme cold without blankets on and when they are brought in, they are shivering in order to keep warm. Even with full care board (includes grain, hay, watering, and stall cleaning) being $330 a month, she has claimed several times that she does not have enough money for food or bedding for the horses, even the full care horses.
She claims to be a trainer that deals with green and trouble horses. I have never seen her actually ride a training horse and the horses she does have for training, if you enter their stalls, they are afraid of you and will run to the back of the stall. She also does not even take care of her own horses. She has horses that have not had their feet done in six to seven months, some even still have poorly fitting shoes on from that time.
If you want to waste your money with her, go right ahead, but you were warned.
