I was out of work for over 8 weeks and I answered an ad for L&R being that I was having no other luck securing a It was for setting up displays and and answering questions as it was told to me. $635.00 base and there can be some commision. Well I took the job, and after I got further into the position I come to learn it was for Kirby Vacuums, and it was to go to peoples home and do a demenstration in the hopes that they would buy a $2,235.00 piece of machiney. As I got deeper in I come to find out that if you sell vacuums you get commision, ok but if you don't that is where the 635.00 would come into play, but only if you don't do the 15 demostrations in the week, you get nothing. I was told that these appointments were set for you, but when you go oout you have to get referrals, tell people you give me 25 names you gave a free car vac and you are in a contest for a drawing, and you had to draw in a 100 a week to get a gas bonus check. Well as I was starting off I my first weekend I had no money, go back in forth to Concord, paying the tolls, and I get get a receipt and write it off with taxes, they said we are going to try and help you out. This Sat, Sun Mon 5 demo we would get $20.00 for each demo we did , they say that how we get certified, and for every referral we get we get one dollar. I came back with 4 demos and 65 referrals. After my 5th attempt on my demo, which I could not complete due to I got sick, I came to grips that this really was not going to work for me, and choose not to continue with L&R, as we were told if it was not right for us that was ok.
When I returned my vacuum I and went to discuss my money I was told that I was not entilted to any money because with me not staying they could not use the 65 leads, and being they say they hold back a week it would of been double dipping, so Rick Smith screwed me out of money he owes me. I went out I performed a service I don't work for free. After I left the office I communicated with Robyn Cross what I felt and advised I spoke with the NH Labor Board and I can file a wage dispute with L&R, and they failed to communicate back with me. Rick Smith thinks I am bluffing, Well I am Not !!!!!! See how you like when you depend on money you expect to put food on the table for your family.
