Stay far away from these dishonest people!!! They will trick you and once they get their hooks in you, they will not let you or your car go.
I took in my Mazda 626 for the "free estimate and determination of necessary repairs they offer on their website. THey called me and told me it would either be a $1500 or $3100 repair. I told them on the phone that I needed to know which before I authorized any work, because my car wasn't worth $3,000.
DON'T DO THIS!! It was a trick. King's took my statement to mean I WAS autrhorizing them to do work, and they removed my transmission for several hours worth of "work". I never did find out what the "work" was.
Then they called me to tell me it was the $3,100. When I decided against fixing the car, they demanded $800, or they would keep and impound the car. I asked for a written breakdown to be sent to me and they said "Our scanner's broken"--as if that was an excuse.
Then, they actually threatened to WITHHOLD where they were going to tow the car. The manager, Mark Shaw, laughed about it, telling me that by the time I found the car, I would owe the City several more hundfreds of dollars.
They kept my parts and took lugnuts off my wheels, so the salvage guy couldn't tow it!
