On Tuesday February 17th I was in Anoka, MN and had accidentally locked myself out of my car on a very cold day. Using my phone I found Keytime Locksmith website and called them for assistance.
I was connected with a employee from the company and informed her of my situation. She informed me that it would be $15 dollars to create a assistance request and $35 dollars for the service to unlock my car, bring the total to $50. I agreed with the price and gave her my location. I informed her that my phone was about to die and I was counting on them to show up as it was very cold out.
About 25 minutes later the technician arrived, my phone was dead at this point and Keytime Locksmith were aware of this. The technician told me that the service would be $160. I told him that this was ridiculous as I was quoted $50 over the phone. As my phone was dead I was unable to call Keytime Locksmiths back and talk to them about the discrepancy. The technician said theres nothing he could do and if I wanted to get in my car I would have to pay him $160 and I could talk to the company later about the price. I reluctantly paid the he as I had no other options at the time.
When I arrived home I called Keytime Locksmith and asked to speak with a supervisor. They told me no one was in and they would have the supervisor call me in the morning. I never received a call and called back the following afternoon and got the same story. I finally reached the supervisor on Friday morning and told him about the situation. She said she didn't know why I was charged $160 but she would open an investigation and get back to me.
I have yet to speak to anyone from Keytime Locksmith since this conversation. They have completely ignored my messages and emails for a week and a half and I have to believe they have no intention of ever contacting me back or refunding the money taken from me by their untruthful and shady business practices and employees.
