In January 2012 we began having trouble with our bank lender. That lender told us to go to Keep My Tennessee Home for assistance. The lender said they worked with Keep My Tennessee Home and so that is what we did. THe first round was getting the documents to file for the assistance. In July 2012 we had our first meeting in Franklin, Tennessee with the Keep My Tennessee Home office. Since my husband is disabled, I did the first meeting alone. It was a group meeting with others filing as well. We were all given new packages full of forms and requests. As soon as I returned home, I put the package together and sent all information into the Keep My TN office there in Franklin. We had a worker assigned to us, Lucy Jackson. From one week to the next there was always an issue. We finially got our second round of the process. At this time I had to bring my husband, and we made the 2 hour trip to see Lucy Jackson and her notary to do his side of the paperwork. They had a checklist of all documents they needed, they had and once complete they said we should hear from them by Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving came and went. The first week of December they claimed they were missing forms and documents! Documents with our personal information including tax record copies. So once again we sent everything to them and to Ms. Sisler with Keep My Tn Home, as we were told she was handleing that side of the paperwork.
On December 4 they called to tell us we needed a document from the lender, and we got that document and sent it to Ms. Sisler and she then sent back to us and Lucy Jackson. On December 5 they said the document was not there. We recent again, and Ms. Sisler said she had her side clear and they were waiting on Lucy Jackson. She was not heard from by end of day and on December 6, 2012 no word, recorded messages only and no one had any idea where Lucy Jackson was. At noon that day they foreclosed on our home. I was in such a state of shock, I could not stop crying, my husband was devistated. He was promised he would not lose the home that built to fit and accomidate his needs. Lucy Jacksons boss, Daryl Hill called at 4 that afternoon. His commit was " I dont know what happened" When I asked why Lucy didnt send in the file, he would not respond but said he would get it fixed. That we had 72 hours to get it straightened out. HE LIED! What a surprise. He then slapped us with another insult, on December 7 asking for PROOF of my husbands disability. They had his paperwork, twice and they even saw him. Needless to say I went and had to hire an attorney to try and fight the foreclosure.
Keep My Tennesse Homes office with Lucy Jackson is at the Gap Community Center in Franklin Tennessee. A 2 hour drive one way for us. They took advantage of us, took advantage of my husband, his disability and they FAILED when it came to privacy and security of our paperwork.
Amazingly we found a women who had received assistance through the Keep My Tennessee Home program, Phyllis Qualls-Brooks, a leading figure in the Nashville area, who also works or worked for the state of Tennessee. Well as the attorney explained, that was why people who really needed the help did not get it. That the money was channled to friends of those in the Keep My Tennessee Program. He also said they had no right to question my husbands disability.
While working the program we continued to struggle and make the payments, and for the second round was told not to make anymore payments, as we had to be 3 months behind they said. Our lender told us the same thing. Well it worked in their favor.
Our fight continued in court, we could not get Keep My Tennessee Home to answer summons, email or phones. In 2013 we lost the fight as our attorney never showed up for court, said he wasnt notified, another story for another day. We were homeless, by end of summer 2013. My husband spent almost 2 weeks in a hospital while I hunted a place to live. Now for those who don't beleive in miracles, and angels, we had one that found us a place. A home that had been vacant for over 3 years, and with no doors, missing windows, a piece of a bathroom and part of a kitchen, we took it. My family and friends stepped in to get it livable enought to bring my husband home. That was August 2013. To this day, no one, not even Senators who promised to get to the bottom of the Keep My Tennessee Home issue have called, written or apologized for Lucy Jackson, Daryl Hill or anyone else involved!
What I can say is Thank You, for showing me that you never cared about anything but yourself. Lucy Jackson and Daryl Hill, your names will forever remain on the list of people who without your failure, we would not have begun a new journey. My husbands health continues to change, and soon he will be totally bedridden. Your trickery took a tole on his health, but because fo this new journey, we have a home that is being made assessable for him, I have help with him and now can work full time again, and still be close to home. We miss the house, but we have our family and our lives, but we also have knowledge that there truely is evil in this world.
I will note that the Keep My Tennessee Home Program is now out of service. I am surprised the Tennessee State Attorney General has not gone after them for all the Fraud they committed against innocent home owners.
