I had bought 3 air cleaners from this company, some years ago. Every now and then Mr. Radzak will call and tell you there is a sale and see if you want replacement filters for the air cleaners. He calledl a couple of months ago and I ordered a few filters. Then for no reason I was sent the next month some little foam like covers that fo in the front of the unit. I get medical supplies drop off on my front porch a lot, because my husband is stage 4 lung cancer and I have taken care of him at home since the beginning of his illness 5yrs. ago. I did not open the box for a while thinking it was part of a medical shipment. When I did open it, I thought it must of been included in with the inner filters I ordered. Then about another month later, I received light bulbs for the units, that are suppose to kill bacteria. I did not order those two shipments. I was going through my bank acct, looking at purchases, when I saw that JWR had charged me over $300.00 for thesse items that I did not order. It took a couple of calls to get someone, that told me they had a tornado, that affected their computer, and it sent out duplicate orders. Since I only ordered filters, it coiuld not of been a duplicate order. They told me, they would have my money back in my account the next morning, not so. I called to complain, but all I got was a message machine. I left a message to call me back, or I would make them famous. After searching the web, I found complaints about the same unauthorized charges to other people. I then called the F.B.I. and they took the information, and gave me the number for the Federal Trade Commisssion, I made a report to them. I also gave them JWR's phone number. My money was then back in my acct. the next morning. I believe after reading other complaints on the web, this is a common practice by this company. The materials they charged over $300.00 probably could be bought from a local hardware for about $50.-$70.00.
The man on the phone said it was a mistake, I don't believe that. I also think he took advantage of the fact a lot of people suffered horrible losses, due to disasterous weather, and tried to blame it on that. He said he would have to clear it with Chicago office before they refunded my money. I have never heard of them having a Chicago office. These guys try to act like they are real big important business men on the phone, pretty sleazy, if you ask me. I've talked to Mr. Radzak, he even knows of my husbands medical condition, and would still try to pull something so dishonest. I have no respect for people like this, they are nothing more than the old time confidence men, better known as con-artist.
I'm 65 years old, and my husband is 72. He served 2 tours of Viet Nam, has a bronze star, was on the U.S.S. Forrestal when it blew up, and is a 32 degree Mason. We are honest people and have seen enough misery in our lives, that we don't want other people to have to suffer, beause of other peoples dishonesty. I would recomend calling the Federal Trade Commission, if you have had problems with these people, the number is 1-877-382-4357.
