Please help me. I got scam by a cabinet company. I would like to file a complaint about a cabinet store call “Just Cabinets #36 Furniture & More” locate at 405 Jefferson Street, Frederick, MD 21701 Tel. #301-668-5500
I brought in my photo sketches with size and design. (See attached). And requested for an estimate the sales person claimed they carry the nice quality cabinets and will be ready in 2 weeks. Their receipt even indicated the pickup date on 3/2/14 and I ordered on 2/16/14. Therefore, I placed the cabinet order and requested the cabinets need to design the way on the pictures and sizes that I brought in.The salesman puts the information in to his computer and prints out a sketch with their industry codes and ran through my credit card and asked me to initial off the drawing. And he added the protection plan on the receipt and overcharged for the delivery fee, and the delivery location is at their warehouse. I told him twice he needs to change the delivery location to my house since I already paid for it on my receipt, because the price was too high and I was able to catch the overcharges on my credit card and have him fix it and void the first receipt and re-run with the corrected price.
Then, 2 weeks by past, when I contact the salesman, the manager said he is too busy and your order is not ready yet and someone will contact you when it ready. I told the manager that the salesman indicated 2 weeks and the manager said it takes 5-6 weeks. I told him if it takes 5-6 weeks your sales man should not tell the customer it is ready in 2 weeks and it was indicated on the receipts.
Finally, on Friday 3/14/2014. The salesman called and claimed the cabinets were delivered in their warehouse by mistake and it is ready. He wants to deliver today or tomorrow. Then I scheduled him to delivery on 3/15/14. And I specific asked him when they make the delivery they will set up the cabinets right? The salesman said yes, but when the people delivery he claimed he only made delivery and he does not do any set up and he claimed that the store didn’t tell him that our condo is on the 3rd floor either. And normally he would charge more on 3rd floor. (So it seems the store scam the delivery company as well)
When it arrives, 10 of the cabinets were damages, doors are un-level on both sides, different colors from the frame and door, cabinets got damages and chipped, panels got split on the back of cabinets. (see attached pictures) (the workmanship was terrible)
Sizes of the cabinets are in- correct.
Design got change without noticed (from 2 doors cabinets to one single door cabinet)-when I spoke with the managers, he claimed some times when they don’t have 2 doors cabinet they have to provide 1 door (but without informed me). Then, I asked why didn’t they tell me when they made change to my order? Then the manager change his story said the sales man did.
NO, that is lie. He didn’t even show me the design.
I requested to change the size on one of the cabinet with extra 3 inches to the left and the salesman didn’t reduce the size on the next cabinet. Therefore, my top and bottom cabinets are unable to fit in kitchen. (I guess the salesman think that I can cut through the wall to install my cabinet with the extra 3 inches?) They are professional, they should know all this, and this is common sense.
When I spoke with the salesman about the wrong sizes and incorrect cabinets from double doors to single door. He keeps accused me that I initial off the drawing, which is my fault. And refuse to make changes. Then said he have to charge me extra if I need to fix the correction. (remember, he didn’t even show me the picture, he only had me initial off the industry sketch)
Due to too many mistakes, salesman and manager refuse to take responsibility for not diligent perform their duty, time delay delivery, and poor workmanship. I requested they stop by my house to pick up all the cabinets and give me a full refund and they refused to do so.
He tried put extra charged on my receipts and distracted my attention to ask questions
Misleading information on delivery date and misrepresentation about quality of the products
Salesman was not interpret their drawing to custom and he was not explain the coding of cabinets from the drawing to customer
Salesman refused to provide district manager’s contact information
Unprofessional, rule and not performed diligent job by not explain to customer and prior to change customer’s design.
Not walk through with customer on each size of the cabinets and only using industry coding provide information to customer and expect the customer to understand and sign of the drawing.
Cabinets are in different colors, damages, chipped, cracked and doors/drawers are uneven on both size.
Please help me provide this information to the public and let the consumers be alert for this company scam “JUST CABINET”. So the customers can void situation like this.
