In November of 2014 Jonathan Thomas Developers entered into agreement with Direct Web Advertising to design a website for their construction company, the agreed upon amount to complete the site was $1650.00 for 8-12 pages. The client agreed to pay $825.00 to begin the project and the remaining $825.00 when it was complete.
It took over two months to finish a website that really should have been completed in two weeks. The reason was that although we repeatedly asked if they site was complete or if they had more changes they wanted us to make, it usually took 1 to 2 weeks just to get a response from them.
The site was finally completed in January of 2015. The client paid the $825.00 balance because the site was complete and 100% finished. It was still being hosted on the temporary site that we had provided them to review the site and/or changes during the design process, but it was complete and all monies due per our contract. After they paid we asked the client for the login information needed move the site from our temporary hosting site to their domain so that their site would be live on their domain, or, if they would rather we told them how to do it if they didn’t want to give us the information.
Again, after waiting, they finally sent what they thought was the information needed. We tried to log on and set their site live but realized that although they owned the domain, they did not have hosting. We informed the client that they needed to purchase “hosting” in order for their site to be “hosted.” We were informed that they would do so and get back to us when it was done.
The next email we received from them stated that they had purchased the hosting and the login information was included. We tried to log in and put the site live but could not because they had not “paid” for the hosting yet.
We informed them of this and told them that maybe it would be easier if we all got on a conference call to GoDaddy, their domain provider. Although we have made numerous attempts to call the client and get this completed no one has ever gotten us the information necessary to set the site live.
After weeks and weeks of waiting for feedback and changing their site over and over, they think it is ok to charge us back because their site isn't live. Their site is complete it's just that they cannot figure out how to pay for hosting (which isn't rocket science in the first place... you just pay for it!) This company is inept, slow and cannot figure out what they want, how they want it or when they want it. They will waste your valuable time and resources to accomplish nothing and rip you off!
