We hired Jonathan Rowe operating as JETT GROUP to build an addition on our house.
We signed the contract in July 2014. We gave him 25% of the total estimated cost of the addition upon signing the contract. The intended purpose of this money was to cover the cost of an engineer and/or architect, to prepare plans for the addition to our home, to obtain all necessary building permits for our home and to purchase some initial building supplies for the addition to our home.
At the time, Johnathan Rowe said the addition would be done by December 2014 prior to our baby girl being born. In October 2014 he asked for the balance of the cost of the addition in the form of a contractor loan. We did give him a cheque for this amount.
It is now May 2015 and we do not have any plans or permits. In the past, Johnathan has said the plans exist and all permits were received. He has since admitted that neither exist. There are no building and no permits have been submitted or obtained from the City of Toronto.
No physical construction work has been completed for the addition to our home and we have not seen any invoices for building materials that Johnathan has purchased for the addition to our home.
In short, Johnathan has taken our money but has failed to obtain any plans or permits, to purchase any building materials for the addition to our home nor has he completed any construction to our home.
Johnathan has admitted that he does not have any of the money we gave him for the addition to our home which was its intended purpose. We do not know what he used the money for.

He preys on new parents and needs to be stopped.
