Hired Jon The Mobile Mechanic to bring newly purchased used car into good shape. Jon said car needed window washer fluid container replaced with a new one, since it was leaking. Said car needed major tuneup,coolant flush and serpentine belt. Said needed money for parts up front. Would not take a check. He said he has no bank account. I paid him $285 in cash. Told me would buy parts and return in a week. I got an invoice Fromm him with repairs neede and cost.
On the day he was to come, he did not show up. Called his cellphone, and woman told me went to jail for not paying child support. Would need to be in jail for 3 months. Contacted him in 3 months. I had to repeatedly call until he finally came to do the work after another month went by..
Jom came out and worked on the car. He had originally told me it would take 2 - 3 hours to do the work. Ended up only taking one hour. When questioned, Jon said that repairs were easier than anticipated. Went over invoice line by line with Jon, checking that he completed the 4 recommended repairs? He assured me all repairs were completed. Paid him additional $65 for labor, which was on original invoice.
Twenty minutes after Jon left, windshield washer container was leaking again. Called Jon, who said he would return to fix problem. Jon never returned, despite numerous messages left on his voicemail, and by texting. Asked another mechanic to find out why there was a leak. Determined that container was never replaced, and that "new" spark plugs are actually rusty. I am out $350, and had to pay other mechanic to make rrepairs. Beware of Jon the Mobile Mechanic! He is very polite while he's ripping you off!!!
