On 7/21/14 I bought a 2010 Camaro SS from Jim's Auto Sales at the
dealership in Fontana, California.
Took possession of the car on 7/22/14. Took the car for a drive on the
freeway.
The whole front end began to vibrate. Next day
I took it to a Chevy dealership and was told there were no
strip weights on the wheels and that's why the front end was vibrating.
Also was told the front tires were basically bald and needed replacing.
Called Jim's Auto Sales about the problem. Basically was told the tires
were fine and there was no vibration per the salesmen Mike Sadie.
So I had to get 2 new front tires, 2 strip weights, balancing and alignment.
Chevy dealership also told me that the auto queues had been shut
off on the turn signal, back up sensors and door chimes.
On the steering column a portion of the controls don't work
and the trunk light had been removed.
The passenger door panel light has a short in it.
Note: The car has a aftermarket stereo, so who knows what was done.
What I'm really upset about is they endangered my life, by telling me the ignition in
the car had been replaced. That was per the salesmen Mike Sadie. Was told by him they would send me another key. Thanks to Carfax I was able to see that the ignition had never been replaced and there was still and open recall.
My boyfriend called Jim's Auto Sales and spoke to Mike Sadie, who said he would take care of it. That was on 8/27/14. Didn't hear back from Mike Sadie. So I called again on 8/29/14 and was told Mike Sadie no longer works for them. Spoke to a Mr. Garcia and asked if the ignition had been replaced in the car. He basically told me he would look into it and call me back. Of coarse he never called me back. So I called General Motors and they said the ignition had never been replaced.
What's dangerous is I right away hung stuff off the key fob/key ring. Which I found out could cause the car to shut off well driving it, if what's hanging off the key ring is to heavy.
Even driving over a ruff road could cause the car to shut off.
There have been deaths due to this problem.
Note: Before I test drove the car on 7/17/14, I told the dealer I wouldn't drive the car till the ignition was replaced. That day Mike Sadie told my boyfriend and I the car was at a Chevy dealership having the ignition replaced. So when they brought it to the lot for me to test drive, they must have brought it from one of there other dealerships. Jim's Auto Sales has two other dealerships besides the one in Fontana, Ca.. I read later that there was a sales stoppage on these vehicles with faulty ignitions. They knowingly sold me this car with a faulty ignition.
Note: I used a credit card to pay the taxes and license. I wrote a check for $10,000 dollars. Total down payment was $12,772.90. I financed $18,000 through Jim's Auto Sales. The total cost out the door was $32,458.42.
Also the car is having another issue now, it's not holding a charge. That means more time and money spent to now address this problem.
Needless to say, this dealership didn't give full disclosure on the car. They are very
dishonest and not trust worthy.
NOTE: I have filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau at this time. The dealership was notified on 9/8/14 by the BBB about the dispute. They still haven't responded.
