Jet Moving Systems picked up my 2 bedroom apartment house hold belongings on 6-20-2014 in New Jersey and they are to deliver to Georgia. The original estimate was for 892 cubic feet at a cost of $2247.84. At the day of pick up they packed up the house hold goods and they claimed we had 2240 cubic feet and increased the price to $6272. They called the day before to say there is a problem with the truck and they want to re-schedule for Saturday 6-21-14. I told them no, that we had to be picked up on the 20th, they said they would see what they could do. On the 20th they called us to say the truck broke down. They did not show up until 9:30 pm, with a second truck arriving at 10:00 pm. They finished at 11:30 pm. They did not clean up, they left moving supplies in the street. The workers were on their cell phones, while trying to load the truck.
They had the new contracts and itemized papers signed, without them filling them out and signed under duress.
As of 8-31-14 they still have our stuff and they will not release our belongings until they get payment. That is 71 days. We have contacted the FMCSA (fmcsa.dot.gov) with the DOT. We have filed complaints with the FMCSA, the Better Business Bureau. We have worked with moverescue.com. We have negotiated with them and they have lowered the amount of belongings to 1600 cubic feet. We have contacted a lawyer. This company has many poor reviews on mymovingreviews.com.
Please post messages on social media and let your friends know that this company can not be trusted, they are a rogue moving company and they have done this same scam with other customers. They do the same thing by not coming to your home and do not do a physical estimate. All the estimates are done over the internet or over the phone. This way when they show up they can claim the size of the boxes are larger than "normal". They will charge you for 10% empty space or voids that is created on the truck after it is loaded.
