Elysium Healing Arts a spa near Disney in Burbank, referred me to a medical facialist in their building named Nikki last summer. Nikki told me that she could really help me with my skin if I committed to coming at least once a week for a few months. She sold me a series of 10 facials for $450. (This is part of her scam.) She claimed to have trouble swipping my card on her iphone and asked me if I had antoher card she could try. (Also part of her scam) She is super nice and you like her instantly - so I thought nothing of it. In total she charged me $450 - 4 times on 2 separate cards. When the charges appeared in my accounts, I called her immediately and she said she was so embarassed and reminded me that she had had trouble with my card that first day. No worries, she said she would fix it immediately.
We became texting friends over the summer or so I thought, she would cry to me about her poly amourous love life and family dramas, I brought her starbucks when I came for my appointments. (This is also part of her scam -- becoming friends and involving you in her life drama.) And of course every week she would have an excuse for why the refunds hadn't appeared in my account. Finally she said she would just write me a check the next time I had an appointment. (of course she never kept an appointment with me again.)
In December of 2014 the scam escalated substantially. Again, I thought we had become real friends and she came to me crying that her family had turned their backs on her because they disapproved of the polyamorous realtionship she had been in. She said she needed money for 10 days to cover the deposit on a new apartment in Glendale. She showed me a check coming from her credit union in NY and told me she would write me a check that I could deposit in 10 days. Of course the check turned out to be fake. (There was another girl she from Eysium that was planning to move in with her and Nikki took a deposit check from her -- and then never gave it to the landlord during this same period - according to the owner of Elysium - so she must have been bringing in pretty big checks in December from a couple of sources.)
Nikki had me pick her up when her car broke down - this was after the $2100 apartment deposit check and before the fraud was revealed. She told me she had lost a $200 check that I had written her for skin care products and that she had put a stop payment on it. She ssked me to write her a new one and then of course cashed both - that's how I found out her real name. She also came to me saying that she had not a penny to her name until that check from NY came and could I help her out -- another $1500 check. (I know...how could I be that stupid.) You can imagine how I felt when I googled her real name -- and all of the rip off reports came up.
Her pattern is consistent. She is dangerous because she lies to your face and you are convinced that you are helping a friend. If you read the other rip off reports on her - she does the same thing and now has done it in multiple states and over many years. Over charges credit cards, charges for products that she steals from other people in the building, leaves the spa she's working at before you finish you series and for those of us unlucky enough to really think we are friends -- she cries at your house and tells you she thinks she's going to kill herself because after all the people she has helped in her life - no one has her back. (I fell for it.)
She was threatening suicide again this past December and I told her I would take her to a hospital. I finally started to get really scared of her.
I've talked to some of her other vicitms and we have filed police reports - I think there are 10 of us. Please file your report with Detective Laufer at the Burbank Police Department it will really help to actually get something done. I thought maybe she was just a girl in trouble but when I found this website I realized just how badly I had been had by a friend. (A good enough friend to loan her money when she was desperate over the holidays and a good enough friend to drive an hour to pick her up when her car broke down.)
I feel beyond stupid as you can imagine. At one point Nikki said - You don't think I'm scamming you do you? "You know I would never do that to YOU -- I love you. You have been such a good friend to me this year. I can't imagine where I would be right now if I didn't have you." Painful and expensive life lesson for me at a time in my life when I really didn't need any reminders about the cruelty of selfish people.
I think Elysium should have at least googled her name before they let her work under their roof and referred customers to her. I also think if she has a real license - that that board should be notified. She's truly an ongoing threat because she has access to a new woman's credit card serveral times a day / several days a week.
The total taken from me -- was close to $8K. Credit card abuse and check fraud. Way to go Nikki!
