J&M Investments is ran by Marguerite Sadowski. Margaurite refuses to release my security deposit. Im a previous tenant and here is how. I did a 1 year lease from Oct 2013 to Oct 2014. I gave her my 30 day notice Nov 10th so that I would be able to move out by December 15th she agreed. She had asked me if it was ok if I waited until December 23rd until she did the walk thru BY HERSELF WITH OUT ME THERE I agreed. When she finally did it on Dec. 23rd she called me and told me; 1- the fridge was dirty from the inside 2- She was charging me 7 days over 3- Two (2) tenants "claimed" I had someone living at the house which was indeed a violation of the contract.
I disputed all 3 items: She then told me to go see the fridge myself which I did and cleaned it on Dec.23rd.
She then said to disregard the 7day issue.
But when we started to discuss the "claim" about an extra tenant she would not tell me who claimed (which I understand) but I went further to ask her if she had other evidence for a stronger case Marguerite just snapped and abruptly started shouting one thing "take me to court!"
I tried calling her twice and sent couple text messages but no response today is Dec24th and have yet to hear from her.
Not sure what to do? if take her to court a filing fee is $350 to $400 and the amount I am trying to recover is $700 is it worth my time? Not likely but to whomever reads this this is my story with Margaurite Sadowski. Do not let her talk you into doing a walk thru by herself make sure you are present and make sure to call her each month to make sure you are getting your deposit back at the end of your lease.
