I hired It's Just for Lunch last year2014. Since then I have not had any quality matches or sevice. They are new to working with the gay community. They have no idea what they have gotten into. I truly believe the see a gay man and suddenly he is a match, because none matched me. They told me they go to JR's, a gay bar, to recruite clients. I dont drink or go out, hence the need for a dating service to find quaity men. Why would I want to meet men from the bars. They never calld after my last date to discuss. I guess it truly didnt matter to them what the outcome was. Very dissappointing. I would never recommend them. My sister tried them and had the same eperience
After trying online dating sites, I decided to give IJL a try, thinking that a more personalized service would lead to a more successful dating experience. I also was lead to believe that IJL's clientele is more professional and, generally, more attractive, than I have been meeting online.
I have had 35-40 dates in a six month period, and only two have I seen more than once. I have been very disappointed with the women I have met...not with their personality, but with their appearance. Looks are the first thing that attracts me, and I have definitely not been attracted to the women that I have met (with the exception of the aforementioned two). On more than one occasion I have expressed my desires to the ""matchmaker"" with whom I communicate, but things did not improve.
I have been told by more than one woman I met that the ratio of men to women greatly favors the men, and the are lucky to get 3-4 dates a month, so either the IJL employees are not listening to me, or (and more likely the truth) they simply do not have the women clients that I desire to meet, and they are matching me with women in order to fulfill the obligation they have to those women.
Another caution...do not forget that at the end of your original agreement, you MUST cancel at least 45 days in advance of the expiration of the agreement, or they will begin charging you on a monthly basis. Don't even try to get a refund if your cancellation is received by them less than 45 days from expiration.
