Yes it’s still running in 2017. Just had a letter through the post from Azur Seguros stating I have won 815,810 euros. They are obviously going to try and take 10% and or other fees. I’m not going to contact them, although I notice Tony Douglas has morphed into Tony Lopez.
This scam is still operating as of October 2008. Letter dated 17 Oct 08 informs of the ""release of La Primitiva Lottery Promotions Program held on the 28th of March 2008. Due to the mix up of numbers and names, the results were later released on the 16th day of October 2008"".
Allegedly a lump sum payment of 815,810 euros has been approved for me in cash (too good to be true, obviously, given that I never bought a ticket for La Primitiva and haven't been to Spain in years).
To claim I would need to fax my bank details to TONY DOUGLAS, the foreign service manager of Azur Seguros, S.A. The letter is signed by Dr Mario Benardo, Vice President Lottery Award Board.
Thankfully I have a suspicious mind and googled this company... my only question is why aren't the Spanish authorities clamping down on this kind of internet fraud?
