InterContinental Hotels Group Reviews

The owner of Lazer Claims Investigations and Security Services, Lester Beam, decided to commit fraud and conspire against his own employee in an attempt to have a "legitimate" reason to fire the employee. The employee, myself, was only concerned with safety issues at a site that I had worked (not the Holiday Inn).

After Lester Beam continued to ignore the safety concerns, I decided to file a complaint with OSHA. When Lester Beam learned of this, he harassed me and fabricated false documents (writeup) with false statements that he made up while conspiring with the brother-in-law, George Tingle, of the owner of the site in question (Ocean Marine Contractors).

I had written to Lester Beam's clients to warn them of the illegal actions he took against me for my concern over workplace safety. The local Holiday Inn didn't seem to care that their contractor committed multiple illegal and immoral acts. The general manager of the local Holiday Inn, Sharon Howell, even said that she didn't care about what was going on.

I also got a response from IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Group). Intercontinental Hotel Group is the corporate entity that owns the Holiday Inn brand. The local Holiday Inn is owned by a franchisee (Landcom Hospitality Management). The executive that responded, Ms. Kari Morris, basically said that she didn't care. Her more exact wording was that each Holiday Inn was owned by a franchisee and that I needed to try to work with that franchisee. However, the tone of the letter told me that if one couldn't work with the franchisee, then the corporate entity that owned the Holiday Inn brand, Intercontinental Hotel Group, would not get involved.

Therefore, the Holiday Inn in question, their general manager Sharon Howell, Landcom Hospitality Management, as well as Intercontinental Hotel Group could care less if a contractor commits fraud and illegally fires an employee that's only trying to make their workplace a more safe environment. In other words, none of them care about the safety of their hotels nor the safety of their guests.

I would advise that you avoid using any of the IHG properties. Below is a list of the brand names that IHG owns:

Do not under any circumstances expect this hotel chain to honor their contracts. I used the IHG Hotel, the Holiday Inn in Florida for a professional sporting event at which I paid $32, 177.75 for an entire soccer team and its administration to stay at. Part of my agreement with the Sales Manager at the time was that I would be given 10 points for each dollar I spent at their hotel.

I called regarding the points not being posted upon completing our contract and was told they took several weeks to post. I then called about 6 months later again when I again was told they had to post them because for some reason the system must not have updated them. I then called another 6 months again after that- this time to their corporate office because I was tired of being told the same thing by the Sales Manager who incompetent about everything in general, not just this. I was told to call the hotel to fix the problem, so I did and I was assured the points were posted. I called back and spoke again with the Sales Manager and I was told they did in fact post the points so I believed her. I checked a few weeks ago because I have a long trip I am going on and there were no points posted from the contract in my account. I asked to speak with someone in the Corporate Office because I plan Professional Sporting Events and have gotten nothing but a run around from the customer service relations department and talked to people who provide the worst customer service I have ever had in my life.

I was sent a letter stating they would not be crediting me because since then that specific hotel went out of business- big surprise they sucked!!! Never mind the fact that IHG has records of both the contract and the reservations- they still refuse to credit it because the hotel is no longer in business.

I spend about $250,000 per year for rentals with Sporting Events for professional teams. I WILL NEVER WORK WITH THIS GROUP EVER AGAIN. The fact I have already given them and have the potential to give them this much business and they have treated me so unbelievably badly, I absolutely will NOT ever use their hotel chain again and I highly recommend that no one else does! Upon being thoroughly annoyed that I couldn't even speak with anyone in the Corporate Office I spoke to my friend who works in the same industry and had the SAME problem with them! Their points program is a huge scam!

When I finally threatened to sue them, they then said they were escalating my case and I would get a call back from a Customer Retention Specialist in 48 hours. 48 hours!!!! that's at least 2 days and I have been trying for 2 weeks to talk to anyone who should be handling the level of account for the business I give them. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IMAGINABLE!!!!

Stayed at this fleabag from 4/29 until 5/2 -- only because the basketball playsoff were going on and the princes were in town. No other rooms available at the time. Supposed to have a room with an armchair, roll-in shower and optional rollaway bed. Shower was ok for the first night. No armchair for someone with a bad back to sit in. Beds were so high off the floor that I would have to jump onto them. Called for the optional rollaway bed and was told that it was against fire rules to have one in the room. Sink took about an hour to drain. Toilet stopped working - nowhere in the hotel was there even a plunger. No one was sent to the room to try and fix the problem -- no mantenance people on site. No offers to move us to another room. FINALLY AT ONE O'CLOCK in the morning after I yelled and screamed for about two hours, we were moved to another room -- WITHOUT a handicap shower. We were not able to bathe until we got home on Friday. When asked about this problem the hotel management said there was nothing they could do; there were no other rooms available. No offer to find us another room in another hotel. There were ants in both rooms. The carpet was filthy and smelled of old grease in the hallways and in the rooms. The wallpaper in the rooms and the elevators was peeling and dirty. One evening I spotted what I thought was urine in the corner of one of the elevator cars. Don't know how long it had been there. The vending machines were empty on every floor. Some of the breakfast items at the "buffet" were stale-dated. Thankfully, we refused to eat in that filthy fleabag. Basically, the place was a pigsty and there was no maintenance staff on duty after daily working hours. The accessibility accommodations were basically nonexistent. No one at the hotel management level cared about our complaints -- all they did was knock off the price of one night of our stay.

I expect to be able to bathe and sleep in my hotel room. If I can't -- which I couldn't - I want ALL my money back!

I would not ever stay in this pigsty again! DO NOT STAY AT CROWNE PLAZA!!!! What a ripoff!
