I was employed by them from Feb 26th, 2015 through March 20th, 2015. On March 20th I was informed by by Supervisor Tiffany Gilbert that I was being let go because I wasn't selling. When I first answered the ad for employment I was interviewed by Judy Reilly the Sales Manager and was told that this was the busy time of the year, calls were coming in from interested parents for reading programs for children and they were so busy they had to hire more for their peak time right now so that people were being helped right away.
In my training I learned that is just one of the closes they also use on the parents to get them to enroll right now for the online classes being offered because the classes could be filled anytime now. In the 2 weeks and 1 day I was on the phone after training, I received 23 phone calls, 7 of them were hang up calls. If this is the peak time, I wonder what the slow time is. Anyway, I was told by Tiffany Gilbert my Supervisor I was being let go and I would have a paper check mailed to me immediately in accordance with Federal law.
7 days later I still have not been paid and I have been getting lip service in emails from Judy Reilly that a check was mailed to me on Monday 3/23/2015. They originally sent me a fake check that looked like I had been paid already and dated 1 day before I was let go that I received on Tuesday 3/24/2015. I sent an email with the two check stubs scanned that showed I wasn't paid for the hours I had coming. She sent the following email back to me:
Hello Dale,
I tried calling the number you listed on your job application as your cell phone (813.xxxxxxx) yesterday around 2:00pm PDT, but it rang several times and then went to a fast busy signal.
I left a voicemail on the phone number you listed as your home number (727.xxxxxxx around the same time, requesting a return call.
The statement you received reflecting net pay of $452.67 was direct deposited to your bank account as indicated. This was for a gross amount of $509.53, which is the sum of $283.04 (35.16 hours of training pay) and $226.49 (20.59 hours of work post-training work at the guaranteed hourly rate of $11.00).
A final manual check was mailed to you on Monday, 3/23/15 for 22.32 hours at $11/hr, for a gross amount of $245.52 and a net amount of $226.73.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

I figured that I could trust her that it was and would wait. Normally when they mail me a check on Friday, I have it on Monday so I figured it would be here on Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. Today, Friday 3/27/2015 it is still not here. I emailed Judy Reilly again and she claims it was mailed on Monday but wanted to confirm my address. I confirmed it. I feel the company has violated Federal Law that requires an employer pay their employee immediately when they let them go. I am very disappointed in the manner they have handled this and have filed a federal complaint against them for not paying me as required by federal law. I also want to warn other people who fall for their ad for employment with them to BEWARE of them and think seriously about finding work with a company that doesn't mislead you and their customers that this is the peak time of the year to work with them or to enroll in their classes.
