I was looking for college transcript from when I graduate in 1983 and it pulled up Instant Check Mate and said it could give it to me free. Then as I keep entering information in it asks for 26.00 and said it would also pull up social media and other websites, dating services also and that it would pull up criminal activity on me and my family. I didn't care about all that I just wanted my transcript. Then as it downloads and pulls stuff over it said now if you want that in a pdf where you can print it you pay 1.99, so I said fine, yes! Then as I start looking at report it pulls over address and addresses I lived before and sex offenders in my area, that's not what I wanted or paid for. Then it pulls up social media that's not mine. Criminal activity was none on me and my family, which I knew there wouldn't be any but then it pulls up other names that might be similar of criminals. Really? Where's my free transcript that I've already paid over 28.00 for. No if you want even more information then you buy the premium package, seriously....im not falling to lose more money.....ugh! I hate liars, cheaters and thieves!
I signed up online for a basic service for one month, using my cell phone. After looking up myself and finding inaccuare information, I looked up another individual and somehow when I chose the option for basic info, the upgrade began. I was unable to go back however as the system contunued to "upgrade" me despite my efforts. Afterward, I realized that I was charged 19.99 for thus and an additional 1.99 for something else that I did not understand. I checked with my bank and realized these charges we r put through and immediately called Instant Checkmate. The very smug lady on the other end of the phone explained that all charges were final and that I should have read all the disclosures and terms of agreement (like she said she does ) and I would have realized that I should have been using a computer and not a cell phone and maybe that would not have happened.
This fraudulent online background search program is a rip off. It promises with just the right words what you want to hear to get your money and then you get nothing more than you already knew until you keep paying and keep paying.
This should be totally a felony to be able to go to Yahoo home page and see this advertised as a
""new complete background check"", exciting the public and ripping them off, me included.
