BEWARE of IndiKids Magazine scam!! The owner, Shadawn Houston is advertising for children, teens and young adults for her digital magazine. She is charging $150.00 with the promise of a full page spread for your child and a copy of the magazine free of charge when it is published. Ms. Houston scammed a lot of people via her website regarding the 2015 Christmas issue of IndiKids magazine.
Those who paid for their child to be featured in the magazine never received their copy of the issue. Her reason for the delay she said was because her graphics guy was in a bad car accident which halted everything. I DO NOT believe that ever happened!! A professional would never halt production of a magazine when they have a lot of people depending on the product!! Ms. Houston refused to take or return calls from concerned parents, blocked her FaceBook page and removed herself from all of the FB groups to which she was a member.
In addition, prior to blocking her page, she posted a link and advised those she scammed to click on the link and pay for their copy of the magazine. A printed edition is $17.00 and the digital edition is $4.00. She knew that the parents would grow tired of the delay excuses and just pay for the magazine, which a few of them have done.
Indi Kids is based in Atlanta, but Ms. Houston has found her way to Los Angeles to further the scam. Please do not fall for this scam!! I am reporting this scam artist in an effort to prevent others from being duped.
just spoke to Ms. Houston regarding my daughter, and basically told me the same thing. she asked for me to pay $700 via paypal, and once the payment is recieved she would send me all the information for an upcoming summer shoot. what a scam wow. thank you for this information
Shadawn Hudson is selling pages in her magazine for $150. Claims she distributes to "industry professionals, agents, etc." Makes big promises and never delivers. December issue only available on Mag Cloud. We were promised a copy of magazine with our ad page 2 months later never received. She operates on Facebook. Says she is in LA but her phone number is out of Atlanta. Preys on unsuspecting parents of aspiring models, actors, singers and dancers. Drags out her nonsense until you can no longer file a paypal claim then blocks you on Faceboom.
