We signed up with this lady to participate in a networking event/local trade show and paid her $226. The full amount, before the event. We kept our promise…
A couple of days before the event we received a rather confusing email explaining a situation (flood) that had occurred in the premises which the event took place . The email was not clear to us and it seemed that she was trying to cover up, but we understand, she didn’t want to lose the business, but that’s not the issue here. She did mention in that email that she’s willing to reimburse all vendors that didn’t wish to take part in the new location.
We decided NOT to be part of the new location, for personal reasons.
We contacted her and advised her that we will not be attending and kindly asked for a reimbursement. She said that her accountant advised her to reimburse clients in 30 days. I am not sure what kind of accountant gives advice like that, that is purely a strategy to prolong the repayment, either because she took a loss in the venture or she’s looking to SCAM people out of their money. ….. A excuse like that is lame and entirely unprofessional and if she had one iota of self-respect she would immediately reimburse the money and not hide from us or not return our messages.
In conclusion, we offered her an opportunity and in good faith and trust we paid her our hard earned money for a service she promised to deliver under certain circumstances. She failed to do that and it is in our right to ask for our money back. She’s being vindictive and childish with her behavior and it will not serve her well in her future business endeavors.
Please be careful. If she did it to us she can do this to anyone. This is who she is. Make sure to get everything in writing before handing over money to her. A business person with integrity takes 100% of the risk and doesn’t pass it around to his/her clients, that’s what’s she’s doing and that is unethical.

THE ONLY THING I WOULD LIKE TO ADD IS, WE ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF HELPING PEOPLE AND IF THIS WOMAN HAD HAD THE RESPECT TO CALL US WE WOULD HAVE TAKEN $50.00 A MONTH AND BEEN UNDERSTANDING..SHE HAS RIPPED OFF HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE IN THIS MANNER AND SHOULD BE IN JAIL!
