Subscribed to this service contractor in April 2010 and to date, payment is monthly. Repeated difficulties with service and billing manner.
Pick-up not always as scheduled, especially around any given holiday, not to mention schedule pick-up day changes. Progressive Waste does not enforce their own rules, not any regulations/conditions whatsoever, re cans, etc.
Rates steadily increased over time, rates include "Residential Toter Service", "Administrative Fees", "Fuel/Environmental Surcharge", local "county" sales tax, and "state" sales tax. RIDICULOUS!
Inquired about reduced rate for seniors or other factors that would reduce our rate and were told quite rudely there are none. Period. Sought quotes from other companies that service our area and secured a FLAT rate that was half the cost of Progressive Waste.
The new company is prompt, courteous, and on pick-up day it's apparent they have acquired numerous other homeowners on my street as well. Unsure why we did not change sooner, obvious OUR loyalty (4+ years!) did not mean much to the old company, meaning Progressive Waste.
When I phoned to discontinue service with Progressive Waste they became even uglier than on previous occasions. Demanded to know what company I changed to and the rate they were going to charge. Hateful, spiteful, sarcastic employees! The Progressive Waste employee was told I phoned prior to changing companies to inquiry about a different rate and was met with the same type unhelpful, unproductive attitude. Rep then states that I will have a partial bill for the last month, and upon questioning same was advised by rep that "the service was dispatched whether you chose to use it or not..." Not true, that service was cancelled.
Progressive waste was advised their trash container was at the end of the driveway awaiting pickup. It has been a week and is still there. This company is TERRIBLE! Please seek service elsewhere you will not be satisfied with the service received from Progressive Waste in this part of Texas.
