I signed up for a service with an auto renew. Canceled right after the auto renew - I would have sooner but did not realize I was coming up on renewal.
I tried many times to get a refund (a week into the service, that I had not actively used)
Therefore I did not have any access to the data - they would NOT refund anything. Cost me $500. !
Don't use this company!
You can go to PC MAG.com to see many other reviews.. may have the same or similar issue. In my case I literally cannot access my "back up" data because I am canceled. BUT I am still paying for this.
This should be illegal.
PLEASE Do not use this company. Cloud, or Dropbox offer the same thing and are reputable!
I signed up for their annual plan and paid an initial $374.62 for 1TB of cloud storage. I have used dropbox and Googledrive and others and I chose this solution because of the interface.
I chose which folders I would like to backup and it went through the system sync. I started receiving errors that I was 100% of my storage limit, I didn't pay attention to it because I just figured I would have to go in and adjust the folders. I am a photographer and the folders I chose flex in size. Two months later I noticed on my credit card 2 charges, one of $197.07 and one for $695.39!
I called the company the next morning and they told me they are overage charges. I told the billing department I did not authorize these charges and I want them reversed. They simply stated it was in there initial terms and agreement when I signed up, (yes the small print when you click the box agreeing to the terms and conditions). Aparantly like roaming charges on your cell phone, they will charge you for any overages without your consent regardless of the amount. Very sneaky.
I told the billing rep I would have never authorized this and it's a new account, please reverse the charges. She said they sent me emails saying the account was at 100%. I asked her if she sent me an email saying she was going to bill me an extra $900 and of course she said no.
I called the bank to have the charges reversed and requested the billing dept waive the fees. The billing dept said they will excalate it.
I will remove the report if they refund my charges, if not, BEWARE...if you do use this service, there is no cap..they will continue to charge you and not tell you what the charges are until they bill you.
IDrive Inc. Reviews
Poor Refund Policy
Very difficult to get refund. Unorganized billing practice is causing issues to consumers.
