After suffering a painful gum infection, by partner, Tom, drove me to the dentist. After diagnosing the infection, he prescribed an antibiotic and his assistant called in the prescription to the pharmacy where I get my other prescription medications. I presented my Humana Rx Plan (PDP) member card to the cashier at the pharmacy counter window. After faxing my information, along with the prescription, to Humana, I was shocked to learn that they cancelled my policy without notice! My premiums were paid in full until December 31, 2014 and they did not even give me a refund! I was in quite a bit of pain as I called Humana's customer service number (800-281-6918), only to wait more than 20 minutes for someone to answer. The person who did answer was unable to help, put me on hold for 15 more minutes, then dropped the call. When I called back, same thing. Long wait, put on hold (with music in background) and the call was transferred to another person. This one also was unable to assist me, so I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor told me that my policy was cancelled because I reported a change of address? I could not believe this stupidity! Here I am, in a lot ofpain, needing my prescription and these fools cancelled my policy because I notified them of a chang of mailing address! They did not bother to verify anything and bounced my call from one operator to another. Finally, completely disgusted, I asked for a refund of my pre-paid premiums. Naturally, this led to more hassles and my call was bounced around to more operators, supervisors and team leaders, none of whom were willing to assist me in this time of great need. They even argued with the pharmacist who filled my prescription! Finally, in complete disbelief, in pain and feeling disgusted, I hung up the phone. I just wanted to cry from the whole experience. Thankfully, Tom had enough cash on him to pay for my presccription. He purchased it for me and drove me home. Next day, I signed up for Silver Scripts prescription plan. Humana treats its customers like garbage. Companies like that should be investigated by the government. SHAME ON HUMANA FOR PUTTING ME THROUGH THIS ORDEAL!
