I was employed by Wagners for a little over four years.. It all began when I was informed that not getting paid over-time was against the law and my Title of ""Kitchen Manager"" was just that a title to keep from having to pay me over-time.. When i began to inquire about this first of all their little ""Punk"" Shane the now General Manager went crying that I was discussing my wages with Barry who was my General Manager at the time.. (also my brother).
Phone calls then began to come in from Miss Mona who thinks that everyone in Montana should far to the ground and worship it because she walks on it. She told me that I wasnt following the hand book rules by wearing white tennis shoes before we opened. I proceeded to walk back into the kitchen area and observed Server who was opening without company shirt on, noses ring, eye brow ring AND tennis shoes on.(took pictures with cell-phone of course) so not following the hand book was just a reason to start problems.
From their the little ""punk"" Shane began to write memo pointing out different areas that needed to be corrected. I also have a copy of that in which he only named one person. (Brian) I from there called owners son Curtis to find out what the issue was. He said it was a joke! Yea,ok thats a good answer. NOT!
After this time I had another instance in which Curtis (whatever his title is this week) told me he didnt like my attuide and if that was the way i was going to be to ""Get Out"" He then proceeded to follow me to time clock chripping in my ear the whole way. Went thru the double doors into kitchen area in which he screamed at me the whole way. I was asking him to stop bullying me. I have four signed statements of his actions that day. He told me outside (more signed witness)
Not to ever call or text his phone again or he would report me. I am assuming that he meant to the police. Ha! I told him flat out i would get a lawyer and we would take it up with the court.
I did go back to work against my better judgement till I could contact my lawyer (who was on vacation). He contacted me while I was on vacation or un-paid leave with my wife who was having surgery. This had been planned since Jan 2014.
I finished the days i could due to the fact that neither of the managers had approved my time off. My general manager approved my time off and the owners came to town popping off with i left because ""I didnt want to meet with them""
that was never so far from the truth. Needless to say my lawyer called it ""Hostile"" work environment. I sent message to ""when to manage"" a on-line work program that i was sending my keys back to them return receipt. I have filed papers to the Labor Board to get my back wages and monies she had decided to subtract from my checks.
In the process of this have found documents in which Mona or another employee has forged to be what they wanted them to say. I am not saying this without proof i have more then enough of that.. Since this time they have spoken of me in a third person, said my work was no good etc. But yet have a B plus for a grade from health department which they never have had since ive known.
Ive been accused of stealing things from my employee file , been accused of using their computer system which is an all out LIE! There were letters sent from (document theives in company) and from little Shane whomn i am currently filing Civil Suits against : Shane Schimdt (wanna be gm) Mona Wagner -Owner Curtis Wagner- (whatever hes claiming to be) Desi Helland for false statements.
The above described incident is not exclusive to the Kalispell HuHot. The Wagners own 3 restaurants and their behavior in all of the units are the same. They are not restaurant people, they come from the Real Estate industry and are WAY over their head. They have more money then they obviously knew what to do with so decided to give their son a job. Curtis Wagner has no idea what to do and micro-manages every situation. When he gets frustrated he yells at management and belittles them. Mona often brags how she can make people cry and I have been on both ends of her anger. They accept no responsibility for the failures of their units only place blame on everyone else. They have instructed managers to put employees in positions to "make their life miserable so they will quit"--this was done at the Springfield store. They bully and hide behind Christianity but in reality they have a Bible in one hand and a knife in the other. They run their management into the ground physically and when they are done with you they toss you aside. They want to blame a hostile work environment on their managers when in reality the managers are being bullied by them and forced to do things that are not only hostile but in some situations illegal. It is illegal to reduce a salary persons pay if they don't work 40 hours a week, which they often do. Curtis has no idea what he is doing, he is pencil pusher and a bully also. The person I really feel sorry for is Leron, he is bullied by his wife to the point of trying to jump through hoops to please her. Its no wonder that he is sneaking beer from the Springfield store after hours, I'd drink too if I had to deal with her daily. All of the past managers need to get together and file a class action suit against these people for creating a hostile work environment. Until they reap the financial penalties that dramatically reduce their disposable income they will continue to do what they do and get by with it.
