We are a home to begin with. My husband is a pastor and we live in the church parsonage. We pay all of our own bills the church does not! Our church was contacted by a Hudson Energy Rep about changing electrical services because they could save us money. Somehow the gentleman that represented our church was talked into adding the parsonage to this account. We have had nothing but extremely high electrical bills. I tried calling to get us removed from this plan but I was informed that if we removed our home the church would be in default and charged an enormous amount of money if we broke that contract. I explained to the woman that we were a home not a business and that their policy clearly states that this is for commercial accounts only. She told she did not care that since we were tied in with the church we would have to stay in that contract or be charged over $1000 to be removed. Really? We are not breaking the cntract we are removing a building. Still, her words were she did not care that would put us in default of a contract. We have never had a electrical bill lower that $300.00. When we had Reliant Energy we had bills that were in the $100.00's. So I know they are ripping us off. But we are locked into a five year contract. So my advice to anyone thinking of switching to Hudson Energy to do your research and take heed to this warning they are a Rip-off!
