I entered into a debt settlement. My Capital one card was the last card that I had to settle. I made an agreement to settle the card. I set up two payments. The first was for $1100, the second was for $300. I was given a confirmation number as well as a date for the two payments. The first payment was taken but the second payment was never taken from my account. HBPL was able to sue me because I missed a payment. I didn't miss a payment. They did not process my payment that was scheduled, confirmed, and documented by my debt settlement company.

My bank account was then garnished without just warning. The entire amount was taken. This caused many checks/ purchases to bounce. The original amount for my credit card was $1200. I have now paid double and don't know when this will stop. I don't know what to do. My bank account was recently seized again.

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.
