Hostgator is the worst web hosting company to deal with i had an article directory for 7 years last year my site was attacked by spammers host gator put a block on my account in a htaccess file and blocked all traffic my business site that was on the same server witch was bullitprooftransmission.com they destroyed me. My article directory is hosted there now because im going to consumer affairs Monday the 17th of November 2014. There support is horrible i was on the phone for 1 hour waiting i finally hung up hostgators ticket system they do not know what they're doing o by the way they own Bluehost to i have 24 tickets and the problem is not solved yet they just keep on blocking my account ill be cancelling at end of the week HOSTGATOR SUCKS stay away if you're looking for a good webhost it's not hostgator this site articlesareus.com is being spammed by an article submitter and its hostgators falt. This company has done so much damage that I don't know where to start ...
Crashed my website numerous times. Server migration was a 3 month nightmare. My site was moved to a server that was so heavly loaded with shared websites that my page load time went up to 10-30 seconds per page from 2 seconds average. They say its my website and ignore me when I tell them it was fine before the migration.
Allowed my site to be hacked three times. Numerous sites were hacked each time but you can only discover this on the web forums - hostgator lies and says they don't know what happened.
FTP services are sketchy at best.
They do not block ANY well known evil web crawlers, they just let them attack your site and then shut down your site for having too much traffic!!!
Took six weeks to transfer three domain names.
they should make laws to protect us from these kinds of companies.
