My wife and I went to the Honda dealer on Phillips highway looking for an SUV. Joe, our car sales person, was very good and we found the car we liked. We made an offer and it was accepted and they sent us to Jason Hovey, the business manager. We decided that we were going to finance through our credit union. We where told we needed to put something down on the vehicle and we put down $200.00 on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. We left that night without the vehicle and said we would pick the car up the next day after we gave $4800 from savings and the balance from the credit union. After reading several reviews on the 2015 Honda CRV, we decided we would not purchase the car. My wife and I called and spoke to Jason Hovey and explained the problem and told him we would like our $200.00 refunded. He said he had not heard of any vibration problems with these cars.
I directed him to the areas of the internet. He said he would refund the money back into our account and asked for our account number to do so but it would take a couple of days. As of this day, June, 18, 2015 there has been no deposit made refunding the $200.00 despite many calls to Jason and Roy with no return phone calls. We feel that we did not purchase the vehicle so we should get our $200.00 deposit back. We felt bad for the salesman Joe that we did not complete the deal and accept the car but under the circumstances we could not afford to buy a car with known problems. I am retired CSX and my wife is in Real Estate. We do not want to try to ruin the reputation of this dealership but if we do not receive a check back for $200.00 by Friday, June 19, 2015, that we will pick up, we may not have any other alternative but to let people know how this was poorly handled.
