Homesearch, people do not bid more than 80 percent of market value
Just like auction.com these people will sell you anything to get 5 percent commission, however good deals can be made here. You just need a realtor who has expertise dealing with auction like properties.
Remember that their title companies will not research the title properly and will totally treat you like trash to sell the property. Get your own title company, your own lawyer and realtor to manage transactions.
Unfortunately, I noticed that many people offer almost market prices for these properties but SHOULD NOT due to a high risk of these properties.
We won a bid in homesearch.com and signed contract with seller and gave them the earnest deposit. when we ask for title insurance, they didnt want to provide that. we decided to get our own. couple hours later, we got an email from them stating that they are cancelling the sale due to a motion filed by HSBC bank (who is the bank actually foreclosed the house). Everything in this transaction was very fishy from the beginning to the end including the bank related portion.
Beware of these online auction websites..buy house locally from your local realtors. these website caused me to lost 4 weeks of my time, back and forward signing tons of paperwork and lost other houses in the market.
Thank you for posting this information. This is an unbelievable experience you had with these crooks. I was about to bid on one of these houses. Thank you again for notifying the public on this matter.
This company is full of excuses. Read the fine print: THEY BID AGAINST YOU IN THE AUCTION IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE PRICES THEY WANT. After two phone call hang ups and no response to an e-mail, my password was no longer valid. I was merely attempting to clarify why a property had been seemingly withdrawn...
They are unprofessional, do not reply to e-mails, do not know how to handle customers, and I would recommend not doing business with them. Them are affiliated with Nationwide Mortgage Company, I was told, which apparently in their mind makes them legitimate. No appropriate follow-through. Not a real auction.
We purchased a home at auction on the Homesearch.com website. Signed their very one sided contract that said they would provide a "Special Warranty Deed". Paid the purchase price and then they gave us a Quit Claim Deed with no Warranty. We contacted them and requested they provide the correct deed. First they try and tell us that the agreement only said we would only get a Quit Claim Deed. When we pointed to the documents that stated Special Warranty Deed they stopped responding to calls and emails.
If it was an honest mistake they should have and could have easily corrected the mistake by filing a corrected Special Warranty Deed. They have not. What impression does that give you? You can reach your own conclusion but I would recommend NOT buying on their website
I was the highest bidder the clock timer ended I was so happy it said Processing.. about half minute later the clock restated with a new bid.....I have screen shots of the ending wit the timer processing... someone on the inside restarted the clock.... call my realtor she was following the auction on her pc and saw it... put in a complain . even the hight bidder was not me after the fix the house did not sell since there was no real person bidding against me....please stay clear of theses people they do not play straight.....four days of pure pressure to win the bid and they rig it in front of my eyes.... SHAME ON HOMESEARCH.COM AND THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE. THEY WHERE EXTRIMELY RUDE AND HANG THE PHONE ON ME.....
Run from these people. I'm a realtor and have seen lies, non professionalism, laziness. Can't EVER get a transaction done in a timely manner and then makes more excuses. Can't get Title work right. I once had to DO their job on getting VA papers signed because they could not do it.
It's a total scam. They own the bank, title company and auction company. Do you see monopoly here. AGAIN RUN DONT BID.
Homesearch.com as I said wants $400.00 for financial consultation and it is only a budget they work outand then a montly fee for using there listing. You can learn on your own how to budget your money if you really want to,MPI realtors want up front money to get you in the program then they are suppose to repair your credit.Lets face it a lot of bad credit can only be done away with in time and by building better credit by making monthly paymentson time.I also feel this pre-approval BS should be done away with because if banks and lending companies find one small thing wrong there goes out the window your pre-approval. so only time and hope with persistance can cure financial problems and credit.
Not only is homesearch.com a scam for buyers but it is also a scam for realtors. The commissions are ridiculously low and when all is said and done the realtor makes about 2 bucks an hour. Homesearch.com does a poor job at selling properties, often sold for way less than what could be gotten as a regular transaction.
Scumbags ended auction early once it hit a certain price. May have been an inside deal.
The parent company is Nationstar Mortgage LLC. To my astonishment they have over 3000 complaints in the last 3years filed with the Better Business Bureau. Check it out. Most of the issues you have with Homepath is partially your fault for not doing your own due diligence and homework.
What a rude and unproffesional people. Don't trust them at all.
I represent a buyer in a online bid and after we win the bid homesearch start to go in circles and lies when we ask for the proper documents and error corrections. The guy made the same mistake several time intentionally and try to collect the 5% no matter what. Rude people, un polite, un professional, without any knowledge or criteria about customer service. A real bunch of scam artists. Not even think to deal with those bandits. Believe me they are bad news. You will loose your money.

Read BBB.com consumer complaint report

If a deal is to good, beware.
Repeat complaint
The complaint listed above dated July 1, 2014 is the exact same complaint I read in Auction.com's review on another site, word for word. What gives?
