I have a 2004 Kia Spectra EX... I initially went to my local Hollywood Dealer for a Check Engine Light issue and squeaking noise when I turn right or left from a parking position and the car hesitates at times when accelerating (I have used them regularly for routine maintenance). They did the routine maintenance about $80.00 and told me I may need a new gas cap for $70.00 not including labor. I opted out of getting a gas cap from them since I can get a 13.00 gas cap from Pep Boys and went ahead and had the routine maintenance. The Service advisor also added since I had over 80,000 miles I should have my Timeing belt changed about $500.00 with labor. I opted to have it done the following week. When they were working on the car, they called me up and told me that I needed my valve gaskets, spark plugs, distributor cap and wires replaced. That was another $370.00! I told them to go ahead and do it now since the car was already in for service. I pick up the car and take it home. The very next day the check engine light came back on!!! As you might gues I was not a happy camper. I took the car back in on a Saturday and they told me my Radiator had a crack in it and I needed a new one including the Thermostat which they said was stuck open anothe $380.00!!! Obviously the car cannot be ridden and they told me I had to leave it and they will need to work on it the following Monday to do a full pressure test for the engine (making sure the car never overheated and my head gasket isn't blown)... so basically I had no car for the weekend. I asked for a loaner and they advised me they had none! When asked if they will cover a rental, they told me not until they have the full test results for the engine (making sure the car never overheated and my head gasket isn't blown). Again not happy at all!!! I waited for may car for 4 days!!!! They kept it until Tuesday! Luckily the tests was positive no blown head gasket so I had my mom pick up the car when it was done. Afte she picked up the car... on the way home guess what!!! The check engine light comes back on!!!! She called me at work and I told her to take it back! She took it back and they re-set the Check Engine light. The very next morning I get in the car to go to work and the light comes back on and on the way home thae car started to have the same hesitation it originally had!!!! At this point I had to drive the car for two weeks since I had no free time and I was already scheduled for overtime and a week end training class. I was finally able to get it back to the Kia Dealer and while waiting for an answer, they get back to me and tell me "We finally figured it out... its the Oxygen sensor another $279.00" I was besides myself, after one month of trying to get the Check Engine light issue resolved and close to $1500.00 later now they tell me waht the issue was!!!! They should have figured out it was the Oxygen Sensor all along when they changed the spark plugs and distributor cap and valve gaskets according to a mechanic friend of mine!!! At this point I was done with them and went to my local Pep Boys and had the Oxygen sensor replaced... I was able to use a 15% off coupon for the service $300.00 total! The Kia Dealer should be responsiblee for that service since they was not able to figure it out the first time I brought the car in for the Check Engine light. I tried calling the General Manager and kept getting his voicemail.
I purchased a used car for my son last week from Hollywood Kia thinking that a main delaer wouldn't lie like the small use car lots. Was I wrong.
I purchased the car on the basis that they take care of a couple of visible issues (the check engine light was on and the AC wasn't working) as well as being dirty inside.
They asked me that if they took care of these issues would I buy the car. I said yes and paid them immediately on the basis that they took care of these issues. The salesman (Johnathan) told me that they would take care of the issues and he shook hands on it,
After I paid them, I noticed that they didn't put anything on the 'we owe you' slip[ so i asked him. He said that since they were doing th repairs now this didn't need to be fileld in. I agreed thinking they would do the work.
The car was driven to me and I checked the car over. The seats were still quite dirty but I let that go. I checked the AC and it seemed to be working fine and the CEL wasn't on any longer. My son drove the car home. A couple of days later the CEL light came on again and the AC stopepd working.
Today I took it back to the stealership who said i had to pay for a new highj pressue hose which was leaking and thus causing the AC to stop working. They didn't tell me this at the time of purchase despite them knowing about this (they knew because they diagnosed the issue within a minute or so and said that they had filled up the Freon when I purchased the car but now it was suddnely leaking again after 2 days) and nor did they take care of the known issues correctly or honestly.
They lied knowing full well that the AC hose needed replacing but simply filled some gas in the system so that it seemed the system was working. Now they want me to pay for the repairs.
In additon, the car didn't start this morning causing my son to have to get a jump start from someone where he's staying. Now we have to get a diagnostic check done as the stealership says they don't know what the issue is. LIARS.
Of course, I'm going elsewhere for the repairs and I won't ever but a car from them again. Think twice about buying a used (and a new) car from this place.
I drove 2 hours on two days to purchase a 2010 jaguar, I got there and the place was a mad house.
There was no order in the show room and sales people was no help at first. Finally I got a sales man attention and he showed me the car dirty car. I like the car that much to give him a shot at selling it to me. While in his office I had to listen to a DRUNK manger sing and play his music loud to the point where I couldn't here the sales man talking to me. No said a word to him.
I took it out on a test run seem to fine, I am no mechanic so I trusted in him and the dearlership the car was ok.
I traded a perfeclly good tahoe for this car and made the deal, as i was leaving on the day i got it the head light was out and out of gas. They put 10 gas in it and told me to come back the next day which I live 2 hours away.
I leave and jump on 95 north to head home and 20 minutes later the car cuts off and will not start. I call back the dealership and no answers. I call the sales man and he said sorry there nothing he could do about it right now.
My son and I are stuck some where we don't know with a piece of junk, I called back the sales man and gaves a piece of my mine he finally said I will come to aleast take you to a motel.
He gets there after a while and the car finally starts up, he hung around to see if it was going to run and it did, to make the story short the car has been a head ache since then. AC stop working fuel gage stop working it has left me stranded countless times.
I would not BUY or recomend anyone to this dearlership. They are Money Hungry Frauds.!
