The station installed guard rail that drivers can't see when inside car. When drivers pull into the gas station or pull out of the gas station after filling up the gas, drivers can't see the guard rail, thus creat accidents and damage the cars.
After filling up gas, when I was driving away, my car was damaged. I fill up gas almost every week at many other gas stations, however this gas station's guard rail were installed in such a way that drivers can't see while inside the car. I was driiving away slowly, the front wheel touched guard rail, my front wheel got caught up with the guard rail, and my transmission cooler became cracked. I stopped the car as soon as I heard a strange sound.
I have since visited many other gas stations, some don't have guard rails, some installed guard rails in a way that driver can easily avoid hit the guard rail.
But Maple Grove's Holiday station's guard rails are installed in such a way that drivers can't see or try to avoid the guard rail. There are better ways to install guard rails or posts. Holiday gas station in Maple Grove did not install them properly, should pay for the repair bill. I have offered Holiday gas station that I have some suggestions to make the guard rail or post safer, but Holiday gas station customer service manager Mike Jorgensen didn't even want to hear about it, instead, told me to ask my auto insurance company to pay the repair bill.
Whenever a gas staation install a guard rail or post that customer may bump into, it's the gas station's reaponsibility to make sure that customer's cars won't be damaged. I am a very careful person whenever I am driving, and I was in no rush at all. If my car got damaged by the guard rail, this is an accident waiting to happen to someone else, Holiday gas station should pay the repair bill and re-install the guard rail or post properly.
Here is the reply I got from Holiday gas station after trying to resolve with Holiday Station by myself: We will not be assuming liability for your accident. You will need to turn this over to your insurance carrier. I will not be responding to any more correspondence from you. We are sorry this happened, but simply because this happened on our property, does not make us liable for an individuals operation of their motor vehicle.
