I went to Heald College for 2 years to receive my Associates Degree in Medical Office Administration. I completed all my courses. I walked the stage and graduated. I was never placed with a job. I am now in debt with this student loan. Heald College is a ripp off I want this loan removed from my name I wasted so much time and energy and effort for this to turn out to be a scam. I will call Curtis and start contacting lawyers about suing.
I attended the Modesto Heald college back in July 2011-April 2013. I was living with my dad at the time and went off his taxes and becaus he made a good amount of money I had to make $180 payments a month towards genesis lending services while in school to pay for that billing period. I had no high school diploma or ged when I attended or graduated from this school. I tested with the ability to benefit. I have Heald college copies of those payments I made each month. However, when I spoke to whoever takes care of my federal/private loans there was no display meant of those payments even made towards my loans at all. In other words, Heald college embeZzled over $2000 of my money to themselves and didn't apply them to my loan. I have proof. Also, once Heald colleges shut down the company "genesis" whom they hired sold their company to another service. I just find it very fishy that just because Heald college shut down that genesis had to as well. But I was prompted to continue making payments towards the new loan services. I told genesis that I applied for a discharge of my loans and degree and until I heard back from them I wasn't going to make payments. I was told it was also illegal that they allowed me to graduate without my high school diploma or ged and that my degree is invalid without it. I would like to file a lawsuit towards this school and have the genesis lending services investigated if at all possible. I am $30000 in debt with an associates degree that isn't valid and no job to show forth.
I was hounded by advisor from heald to come in and see what, if any, programs i would like. Going in i told them i had a recored so i wouldnt be able to get in the medical office administration program, I was told, "OH hon, this degree will trump that felony." So i signed up and graduated with honors and a 3.6 GPA. During the two years going there, i informed more than one instructor that i have a record and i cant seem to get any kind of employment with it. Not one person suggested I switch programs. Now i have a bill of oveer $50,000 that i owe them and i had to re-enroll for a business program at a different school to the tune of $32,000. I really think heald needs to reimburse me the money i did pay on the loan through Gensis Lending and also damages from the stress of trying to land one of the jobs that i was not qualified for. Someone needs to yank them up and make them start to repay all the money that us broke people are now indebit from.
