These guy came to our apartment telling us that they are from JCP&L conducting a survey about our elecrticity. Since we are new to our apartment, we thought that maybe it is standard procedure for the company to be doing so. The guy ask for our electric account number which my wife consented and let them investigate our electrical bill. This is when we noticed that their ID is not from JCP&l but Harborside. When we ask the guy about it, he just said it's okay since they are doing this thing for JCP&L.
About few days another guy comeback to our apartment telling us to call Harborside. In order to get raid of him I just told the guy that I well but I never did call their company.
The next thing we know in our next belling period, HARBORSIDE ENERGY is already charging us on top of what JCP&L are charging.
We called JCP&L about this matter and told us that HARBORSIDE ENERGY told them that we are transfering to this company as our electricity provider.
Our question is: Is these how easy for one company to tell another company that there customer is moving to them without verifying from the actual costumer or check if there is a signature from a contract as proof?
Are we costumers too crazy so that we will need to be charge more than double to our actual usage on services recieved since just like what happen to us JCP&L & HARBORSIDE are both charging for one service rendered to us?
