GULF STREAM Reviews

We purchased a Gulf Stream, Gulf Breeze 531bh, 32 ft fifth wheel from RV Wholesalers.com in March 2008. I picked up the RV Friday before Easter. It was a 600+ mile trip home. The same day I purchased the RV the slide out came out as I drove down the interstate. It was late on a Friday of a long holiday weekend so we didn't turn around and take it back to the dealer since they were closed, mistake #1. Used straps from an all night truck stop to hold the slide in the rest of the trip. Not much fun!!

I had the slide out fixed and the first trip to the West coat was in June 2008. You Guessed it, the slide out broke twice on this trip. I got it back home after fixing slide myself. After returning home I find out no one will work on a Gulf Stream product because they wont pay warranty claims. I search all over Colorado and Utah looking for a dealer to do the work. The rest of 2008 the RV sat in my Drive, unusable. Finally found a dealer to repair the RV in Jan 2009. They were over 200 miles away. I took the RV to the dealership for repairs in Jan 2009. They had the RV until April 2009. On the 200 mile drive home the Slide broke again!!!

When I got the RV back to my house not only was the slide still broke, I found it had sustained water damage from a leaking roof. I talked a local dealer into looking at the RV at my expense. Because of major water damage they advised me not to stay in the RV because of mold. The roof had leaked since new and now the roof, rear wall and side wall were all full of rot and mold. Local dealer indicated the trailer was probably a total loss and refused to work on it further. They figured the slide problem was a design flaw. They did seal it up so it did not get further damage.

After working with Gulf Stream from the start of this mess, they agreed to come get the camper for inspections and repairs. After over a year of owning it and not being able to use the RV, the factory picked it up in June 2009. The trailer stayed with Gulf Stream at their factory all summer. This was summer #2 that I could not use the RV. I could not get any info from Gulf Stream and finally hired an attorney in August of 2009. After hiring an attorney, they wanted to talk and bring the camper back, no info, no communications, and not covering the attorney fees. On top of it all, the selling dealer wouldn't even return a call.

It is now Feb 2010. Gulf Stream Still has the RV. I still have payments and now have attorney fees for 6 months of Gulf Stream stalling.

If others are having the same issues, we should join forces. My pockets aren't deep enough to keep fighting with them and I think that is the tactic they use to avoid legal battles.

Lemons can happen, we are human and when hand work goes into building sometimes they need to be replaced. When a company owns up and stands by their product and supports the consumer it's a sign of integrity and builds trust.

Our experience with Gulf Stream was the exact opposite.

We bought a brand new Enduramax trailer in September 2012, when I say new, it truely was new. A gentleman whom previously purchased the trailer bought it from one dealer and sold it to another after he lost his job. When I walked into the trailer I was grateful to have the opportunity to benefit my family with our first journey in it. The mattress covers yet on and clean as a whistle. A perfect size can haul the Harley and the kids loved it! The intention to go out West on a traveling education with my kids the intention and have many memorable journeys with it following.

On the day the Sunday we were to pack up and go out west the hand crank on the trailer fell off as we went to put the truck and trailer together. Thankfully the RV service that sold it to us was available to come and fix it. So we set out on our journey to Yosemite on our first destination. On the 2 1/2 day journey the unit began to fall apart. Fom the bunk bed, to the bench to the master bed and the list goes on.

When I called to get it fixed Gulf Stream confirmed I was the 3rd purchaser hence there was O warranty. I figured it would be smart to fix it and sell it while it was out west to a snow bird. Had 3 months and the 2nd largest RV show to sell it in and it remained mine, hence I figured I'd chalk it up haul it back to WI and use it as a family. On my journey bringin it home more happened to it. Which continued to shine light on the red flags in this unit. At that point my family felt unsafe to use it. So I again called Gulf Stream to educate them on what had happened next. Gulf Stream was happy to support me in selling it to a dealer. In Amazement that after hearing my story they even felt it was okay to sell was a surprise. Truly after you watch the video you too may think twice about the construction and safety of the vehicle.
