Greenview Home Builders & Cabinetry Designers Reviews
Jun 11, 2015
I hired Yuri Birg as a contractor to renovate my home. He is the owner of Greenview Home Builders in Lincolnshire. It took him six months for him to start the renovation of our basement. He finally started the project in December of 2014. The project slowly dragged on for four months with numerous excuses for the delay. During that time, we had an overflowing dumpster on our property. We learned that the reason it was never emptied or removed after repeated complaints was because he wasn't paying his bills to the dumpster company. After four months and only a partially demolished basement to show for it, Yuri stopped paying all of the subcontractors on my project without any notice. As of April 2015, Yuri completely abandoned our project, leaving us with a partially demolished basement. He also collected money from us upfront for services that he never performed. In particular, we purchased a back-up generator from him in January 2015 that was never delivered to us. The generator cost a significant amount of money that he stole from us, given that he took the money from us without any apparent intention of providing us with a generator. Indeed, he has ignored every one of my emails, calls and texts to him and his associates to demand repayment. In addition, our home sustained damage during the initial phases of the demolition that was never repaired. Yuri has ignored all of my attempts to contact him. I had no choice but to terminate my contract with him in April of 2015. I had to hire another contractor to finish the basement renovation. To date he still owes the subcontractors on my project and me a significant amount of money. He is currently doing the same thing to other people who I have spoken with around my neighborhood. He is still in business and has not filed for bankruptcy yet.
