After receiving a letter in the mail about a loan I was qualified to receive at a low interest rate to reduce my credit card payments I decided to phone them. When I phoned I was told it was a simple interest loan the interest rate was 6.73 and up depending on my credit score and it would range from 3 to 5 years in length.I asked was this a bank and was told no that this company works with investors and was asked about my credit card debt dollar amount and amount I was paying per month. I totaled this for them and responded.I then stated about prior request I had made and was told about my revolving dedt and inquiries on my credit report and that being why this was probably a waist of time. They stated no they should be able to work something out with their investors and would let me know my options on loans but needed to know my income, house payment other non credit card payments etc.then they would need to check my credit report and would get back to me. The following day they wanted my wifes info and said they were working something out and would get back to me later but wanted my wife on the phone also. When my wife got home I phoned them and got her on the phone also, they then gave a long statement about how much bebt we are in on credit cards and how this loan will reduce the amount of time we pay them down and how much effort they had put into getting this loan for us.They then talked about how much our payments would be and it being less than our payments are now and the amount of time we would save paying them down. After I asked what this consisted of they stated it would be 0% interest, the amount the payment would be and how many years, also they would reduce the amount we owe to the card companies BUT we couldnt use our credit cards anymore. I knew then this was a debt reduction company not a consolidation company with loans. I told them when we paid their company and not the credit card companies we would get late fees and they replied yeah but and thats when I stated this never was a consolidation loan why didnt they tell me and if I did this my credit rating would go to 0. My point in this report is DO NOT fall into this trap DONT let them run your credit report just so they can tally up your debt then give it to you in a long statement attempting to get you to pay them and not your credit card companies. These debt reduction companies have bad ratings because of what they do to people and get complaints and have attorney generals coming down on them and anyone else victims can find. I saw what they were trying to do and had read about those debt consolidation companies. Also I feel they dont use the term debt consolidaton because of the reputation those companies have but dont be fooled by them.

UNPROFFESIONAL BEHAVIOR-RUDE!

I agree with everything you said! The so called "Director", who called me back instead of the lady that was supposed to....got upset with me because I couldn't speak with him at the time he called. He said "call later and maybe I'll have time to speak to you" ....EXCUSE me! They lost my business! I was only looking to reduce my interest rate! nothing else! Thank goodness- He treated me with such disrespect! Otherwise, we may have gone further in the process, but I would have also told them, I'm not interested in having them RUIN my credit over wanting to reduce my interest rate! RIDICULOUS AND POOR SERVICE! MISLEADING!

Absolutely

I got the letter too. Did the online app and got a call at 9pm even tho I specifically showed in my application to contact in the mornings. After a couple of days he called back and started dominating the conversation and interrupting and talking over me. This is not a loan. They take over everything and will ruin you. The guy I talked to is Jeremy Sellers. When I called him out that this is not what I told him I needed in the first phone call we had, he told me how I was a step away from not "having a pot to piss in" (actual quote). I told him that this is to not be trusted and he did was blabber louder and louder.

Got the Letter

All I can say is THANK GOD FOR YOU AND THE INTERNET ! I did go as far as calling, had put it off for about 2 months. I just wanted to consolidate everything and do a little work on the house. When I called I told the lady (Amanda) that this offer sounded to good to be true and asked her to give me some more information. She couldn't. I already had a bad feeling about it and she just confirmed what I was feeling. My mother use to tell us that if we feel uneasy about something there's probably something just not quite right about it.

I continue to get this mail about a 35,000 loan from Green Link and a payment of 431.00 so I decided to investigate just to past knowledge to my friends and family. If it's to good to be true..

It's not!

GreenLink Financial

Thanks for your review comments. Very helpful. I received a proposed unsecured loan offer of $35,000.00 which stated it was a Payment Saver Personal Loan, with no collateral would be required. Sounds too good to be true. I must respond by 1/8/2016. Your reply was very helpful in making up my mind. I will put this piece of trash in the proper waste recycle container.

Thank You for the review. I really appreciate you letting people know how they are messing with good hard working people trying to do what is right. There are a lot of other companies out there pulling the same thing. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

Debt Reduction Ruins Credit

This review is spot on, thanks for posting it and sticking to the facts. I was glad I checked into this before I pulled the trigger and called GreenLinK Financial. Debt reduction is one step before a chapter 13 bankruptcy. It is not good for your credit and it is not good for the country. I do think that if you got the money and paid off the credit cards and other revolving credit with the proceeds, you will save your credit rating. This is means you must be current on your bills when you (not behind and needing the money to save foreclosure) or you will indeed not be able to pay off the cc and revolving debt you owe. Then your credit rating will go to zero and you may as well have done a chapter 13 br. Great information though, I started to contact them as well.

If you want to go the default route

Just default on your credit cards, play hardball with them. They know that their debt is unsecured and will get tossed if you declare bankruptcy. This way you get the reduced payment in a default writeoff not the 'debt consolidation' company. Either way your credit is screwed. You might as well get the financial benefit of the lower payment and not pay a middleman if you want to go this route.

Your info was most helpful

Got one of these offers in the mail and thought I'd finally found a way out of my financial mess. Thank heavens I had the insight to go on the internet first. I, for one, WILL NOT, be making the same mistake as others before me. Thank you, Thank you...J

Pays to investigate

Thanks for the review and info. I got scammed by a company like this years ago. They took over 3,000 dollars of my money and never paid off one credit card. When I asked about why they had not their reply was there was not enough money to pay the big ones first which raised my antenna. Legally only a Bankruptcy Court can call for stopping credit collections. Most card companies will honor a request for a period of time but then will call for payment. By that time your credit has been trashed and these companies will demand payment in full or arbitration which is in the fine print when you apply for a card.

GreenLink Financial

Same BS as above. 500K in equity in two homes with less than 7.5% debt to equity but the best they could do is double flier rate. Go with a reputable lender.

Bait and Switch - Completely misleading

OMG! They send you an offer with low interest rate and then they say you're not qualified for a loan and then they proceed to talk to you like you're a moron. Sean says he can be trusted and wants to educate you.

DO NOT fall for it! Total scam!

GREAT HELP

My mom and brother got this offer in the mail and asked me to research reviews. So I have and this review was a great help to us. I knew in the back of my mind that when she mentioned the name of the company that it was a bad vibe and I was right. I have heard of other companies doing the same thing. They get you to sign up with them to pay your credit cards but your credit card companies are not paid off by them so you are still accruing late fees and in some cases after you default high interest rates. Most credit cards have a clause that once you are repeatedly late they can up your interest rate on the credit card.

Thanks for taking the time everyone to write a review.

Greenlink Financial

Thanks for the review, seriously. I've been shopping for a consolidation loan as I am not having difficulty making payments, just getting the balances on credit cards down. So I don't need anyone to renegotiate for me or assume my debt. Why can't they just say its debt reduction program?? putting small print on the back saying they don't broker loans and to do not fund anything doesn't actually tell me they want me to apply for a debt "reorganization" program. Should have realized when it said "flexible terms" If I were in trouble and needed someone to negotiate my debt before bankruptcy I'd probably miss them thinking its a loan! dummies. Received August 2016 mailing advertising a payment saver personal loan program..

Received Mailer for up to 35,000

I appreciate the feed back. I was considering consolidating my credit cards but after hearing the setbacks it has with your credit score, Ill pass. Im not late and have worked too hard on my credit for some random "good to be true" mailer to ruin it completely.

Thanks again everyone but most importantly; my credit thanks you!

This is a scam. You will get a letter offering a personal loan to payoff your debt...But they will not offer a loan. They are debt-re-structures...Which ruins your credit. Advisors are hard core pushy sales-people who don't let you speak. I dealt with aray estrada...He was rude and horrific. He should be fired!!!! run away. These people lie.

RUN

I also received an offer in the mail which looked like a check. I knew it wasnt but i called to possibly apply for a loan. They had all my info without a credit check also. Then they congratulated me on being approved. But it was not a loan. It was a debt relief program which i didnt ask for and didnt want. The agent was very helpful and patient but i noticed all the emails were from a company called Freedom Debt Relief. And whatever the emails stated were totally different from what she stated. In fact she was very careful to see that nothing was in writing. When i decided to cancel Her response was "no problem" But when speaking on the phone it was the sales pitch again. When i did cancel i recived an email from freedom debt relief telling me that due to a failure of me not fulfilling my promise to make bank deposits they were ending our relationship!!!!! What? My first bank deposit wasnt even due for a week. I have emailed them several times asking for an explanation but they just ignore me. My credit was good but they want you to stop making payments on credit cards and to just deposit money in a special account. When the balance is high enough they will then contact your creditors. Meanwhile they want you to contact your creditors and give them their attornys phone numbers to call. I have been in a debt relief program before. It didnt work like that.

Amanda

Just called and asked the same questions to Amanda. I read the statement off the back which states: Greenlink financial does not broker loans and does not make and/or fund any product offerings, loans or credit decisions. When asked to explain this she stated, that this was a fake check. I told her that's not what the paragragh was saying..... she then went on to say that they do give loans. I just told her I would go to my bank as my credit score is in the 700 range. When someone cannot explain what's on the back of the check and tries her best, when clearly its not talking about a fake check, I would just leave it alone. Amanda and everyone at Greenlink Financial please read what your company is truly about so you can give accurate information....

Greenlink Financial letter

I also received a letter from Greenlink for up to $100000. unsecured with no specific payoff time. I did go online and received a call the other afternoon about my inquiry. They basically wanted to know my life history, how I got into the debt I wanted to consolidate and wanted to do a "soft pull" on my credit. I was not going to give them my SS# and they told me I did not qualify and good bye and hung up on me. Like the saying goes.... if it seems to good to be true it probably is....

My exp

My chick stated it in fact not a loan rather a restructuring of my debt. I asked what was in it for them and she explained they settle with the CC company for half the amount but add an additional amount which in my case was $6161....This left me paying $19.555 which is 7k less than my current balance....When asked she stated there was a 5.9% rate but not compounded %...This in itself is acceptable but if this also drops my credit score to 0 that may be a deal breaker...It did seem odd that I wouldn't be allowed to use ANY credit card during the contract which is why I googled for a scam....There has been no mention of any fee. In fact she stated fees are illegal...

Crap in the Mail

I received this offer in the mail a couple of days ago, just put it in my purse to read when I had time.

Well - today I did and like the other person above I never take anything at face value in these changing times.

I checked it out on the internet and once again it never hurts to investigate any and all companies claiming the can do better with my finances.........................

GreenLink Financial Loan Consolidation

I had the same experience as everybody described here. My fault was that I did not do my research before calling them. Yes, I wasted my time speaking with them.

Thank You for the Info!

I received this notice, and my question is how they got my information? It's clear from the fine print they did not run a credit report (which would have been illegal), but the fact that they did not put their name in any of the front side or the phony "check" made me discredit it from the get go. Reputable consolidation loan offers don't hide their names, or what they're offering. Shady, shady, shady! If anyone gets this, I'd refer it to your state AG's consumer office for investigation and file a complaint for misleading practices.
