I recieved a call from a Florida number repersenting that they were Government Vacation Rewards and that they had a contract with the military to provide vacations to military and military retirees. I was told that there was no membership fee, and that any funds deposited in a membership level belonged to the person who was the member for their use for vacations. Also there would be points awarded that could be used for "a" vacation, and a free vacation would be given to sign up on a cruse or resort. Also if I would sign up then I would get additional points. Also that the money was military money and they wanted it spent on active and retired military for moral. I would get a letter in the mail with a contract and then specify how I wanted to pay for the balance, and that I would have 10 days then to cancel. There would also be a selection for a cruse or a resort vacation free for signing up. I was then put with a "supervisor" who talked so fast there was no way to keep up with what was being said. When the letter finally came it was timed to arrive after 10 days from the call, and the recission caluse in the letter was already over. So there was no opportunity to end the contract. I had, in the mean time, began research on this company and found many very poor comments. I tried to call the "Senior Account Executive" at the extention given me and was kicked off of the call every time. I e-mailed him my concerns and got a one line response and asked that he call me the next day from his office . The call never came. All this was clearly to get me past the 10 days notice period. Of course there was no contract in the letter. There were only two pages of curserory information and telling me of my obligations of payment There was, however, a Truth-in-Lending statement on the back of the letter saying I had taken out a note with them for $3161.00 at 7.448% interest and owed 18 payments of $159.00. A $9.00 processing fee per payment would be applied. The amount "financed" $2700.00. So much for the account being "my money." These practices are about as deceptive as any I have seen, and the Army MWR Office should be ashamed to have this business listed as a corporate associate. I am very seriously considering a class action law suit in Federal Court (FCC and across state lines) for these deceptive practices.

HUA

Please include me in any class action. I am Canadian and trying to organize a suit on this side of the border. This predatory company must be stopped, and held accountable.

Agree

We fell for it too and are now stuck with it! I have used them for hotel rooms a couple times just so I can keep my star card active. Always find a better deal the. What they offer.

Two years ago I came across a company called Government Rewards Vacation which is also known as International Cruise and excursion gallery, Inc. At the time I wasn’t sure about them because so many companies are out to get military people so I told them that I would give a call in near future when I was ready. On May, 2013 I received a call from a sales rep with an offer that was great just what I thought I needed. After talking to her and her I became hesitant and told her that I would call her back. I felt like she was hard selling. After a day or two she called me back with a better offer she asked me what was holding me back I told her that I was not willing to put down a payment of 300. She told me that she would lower it to 199 and I told her that I needed to talk to my husband she asked if she could so I said yes I was just tired of her going on and on and I knew my husband would say no and good bye. However I was wrong she sold him something even better like a free cruise so he said yes. He told me to give her the card info and that it was a good deal. So I agreed then after it was all done. I called because I never received the welcoming package and I never had a receipt sent to me. So I called to tell her she told me that I didn’t need it. Then after about a month I seen these charges that were not supposed to be there be posted and my account was beyond negative with a lot of fees so I called them to hear well you said yes to all the payments and we have you recorded. Never once did they readme the rights I was supposed to have as in this call is recorded are you ok with that etc. Then they tell me that I cannot cancel because I am past the 10 days of cancelation. So I Have to make 18 basically charity mandatory payments even though I do not use any services.

I am a verteran who thought this was a good program until they didn't let me access my acount and took away all the points I had aquired. I spent $2000 for an upgrade that apparently was only good for 2 years which they neglected to tell me. At no point was I told my upgrade was for 2 years.

They offered to reactivate my account for another $1500, give me 90,000 points and $1500 for some other program they have that is supposed to save my money. I could do better online than this.

The Worst Scam Ever!!!

We got suckered into this program after being sold into how they offer special rewards to military, and they support wounded warriors. Me being a wounded veteran, I felt it would be a great thing to buy into. All I can say is they have been the worst people to deal with. My wife called yesterday trying to book a trip, was on the phone over 3 hours! They can't get us our trip because it was booked, and there was nothing else to be offered in that area. When you do the math, they are making a double profit off of you for a "free" trip. Please don't buy into this, wish that the government agency's would not promo them.

They want $1,700 for nothing

Government Vacation Rewards called me yesterday and today. I thought they were really sincere in helping federal employees like me. The lady told me to logon to the website, I can't remember my username and password but she quickly provided me with a new password. She said under the benefits tab, I can use my 250 points to buy a travel or cruise. There are deals that are locked so I can't see them. I told them how can I be interested in their travel promotions if I can't see the offer? She said in order to unlock those offer, I need to pay $1,699.00 or a payment plan of $199 down and $125 for 12 monthly payments.

I told her I get can travel deals in many websites without signing up to them, but she said people who do not travel like me do not understand the deals they are offering. So I flexed all the countries I traveled in the past and mentioned all the rewards and cheap deals I got online so she now have a grasp that she is talking to a professional traveler.

She was persuading me to sign up to the Las Vegas LINQ hotel accommodation. I told her I am also using LINQ mobile app and I am getting rewards directly from them. She said I can save money on cruise, the Alaska cruise was $4000 on their website. When I looked up Alaska Cruise website, they are offering $1,789.

Avoid their sales agent calls at all cost and don't sign up with them. She told me "they are not directly affiliated with the hotels, travels and cruise companies" they are giving rewards only. So what's the point of paying their membership fees if they will just transfer the booking to the legitimate hotel and airlines? They also make commission on top of your purchases by referring you.

Poor Service

I have this program and the first time I used it was fine, booked 2 other trips since that and they have both been screwed up, their travel experts are complete morons and don't know their ass from a manhole cover, tried calling my representative and customer service got absolutely no where.

Class Action? Include me!

Overpriced travel - over what you can find yourself on the internet. Outrageous membership fees....I'm a VA nurse, and feel exploited by this company.

Pay pay pay for nothing. For example. Use for hotel discount and they advertise discount but when you book the discount disappears. This discount is supposed to be part of the perk that you pay for in membership fees. Obviously discounts advertised for membership are not true.

Almost Fell for it

I saw this through the Exchange website and thought it was a great idea to a "trusted travel company" surely they can be trusted because they are advertised through the exchange website.... Well not so much! I almost fell for the hook, line, sinker act. All I wanted to do is reseeve some airline tickets. After about an hour dealing with the "travel account manager" I told him he was waiting his time and mine. He then said, "ok I will transfer to a travel agent".... Travel agent came on said there were no flights available so I hung up and booked through the airline... What a RIP OFF SCAM!!!! And I still can't believe aaffes allows this company to advertise through there website...oh one more thing if you tried to purchase anything on website it will give you "booking failed" this is how they rope you in....also it puts a hold on your card for the amount of purchase....So Don't Do It!!!
