My son is getting ready to go to culinary schools but is concerned about his knife skills, so when I saw an offer for "The Art of the Knife", I decided to check it out. The book was available for $3.95, great deal, so I ordered it. Knowing full well how tricky some online ordering can be, I am ALWAYS very careful to check for hidden items getting into an order without the buyers knowledge, so checked to be sure there was nothing being added. Suddently my credit card is being billed 9.95 a month, with 2 additional charges of 21.95 added in there. We never received the book, but they are telling me that they successfully delivered the book and the "herbal capsules" that I "ordered". We were on vacation the day they show this was delivered. I have spoken to several different people at Gourmet Cooking Online, and most of the charges have been refunded, but cannot get them to refund the cost of the "herbal capsules" (apparently a device for planting herbs?), and they still want me to make 4 more payments! For items I never ordered and never received. Be very careful to ensure no "add-ons" are included in any orders you might place.
I received an e-mail stating that I could purchase a meat tenderizer for $9.95 which I later read was really going to cost me $19.90. They would charge me another $9.95 after 30 days and so I said okay and send my credit card information. They billed me on August 20, 2014 but as of today 9/17/14 I had not received my product so I called them again, (already called a week ago and was told it was shipped) to let them know that I had not received my product to be told that they would give me a $5.00 credit on my account which I will never use again and they had no idea when I would receive my product. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will cancel my credit card within the next two weeks and get another so they cannot debit it again and again.
Well I ordered a cookbook from Gourmet Cooking Online. They sent me some extra items on a 30 day trial. Well through this whole process they never told me how much the trial items would cost. I ordered the cookbook on 5/12/14. I received the items day before yesterday (6/11/14) so guess what? My 30 day trial period had ended so they had charged my credit card $84 for a partial payment on the trial items. I mailed all the items back today, except the 1 cookbook that I had originally ordered. So I find out that by the time they charge me the shipping cost for sending the items to me, the cost of the cookbook and the shipping cost for me to returned the trial items the book will have cost me $25.71. Just to let everyone know, the trial items that they sent me was plastic junk. Maybe worth $40. They were going to charge me a total of $340.43.
This company is very deceiving and slick the way they never tell you how much items cost you until they have already charged you for them. They are in my opinion a total RIPOFF.

In doing so I noticed that many items where on 30 trial with x-easy payments. Planned to cancel extra items at check out. The order was placed, Sat. 19, 2014, with no review. Called customer service (1-888-240-4628) immediatly to cancel order, connected to V/M that stated, they are open M-F, 9a-5:30p. Called customer service early on, 04-21-14, Monday. They said order had already been processed, which I doubt, and that I could return the items and recieve a full refund all I had to do was pay return shipping. I told them I was going to refuse delivery and mark return to sender when package arrived. At this point I was offered $10.00 off my order. I repeated I was not going to accept delivery. I was then offered $20 off my order, which I refused.
